  • Offer Profile
  • The PicoQuant group was founded in 1996 to develop robust, compact, and easy to use time-resolved instrumentation and systems.

Today, PicoQuant is known as a company leading in the field of pulsed diode lasers, time-resolved data acquisition, single photon counting, and fluorescence instrumentation. In 2002, we developed the first commercial ultrasensitive fluorescence microscope that permits measurements on the single molecule level. Our instruments are used all over the world. They help to prepare papers in high-ranking journals as well as carrying out routine quality control and production processes of global industrial players.
Product Portfolio
  • Pulsed Lasers and LEDs

  • PicoQuant's compact and reliable turn-key diode laser solutions work in picosecond pulsed, modulated, or fast-switched (nsec to µsec) operation mode. The laser systems typically consist of a common driver unit and exchangeable heads. Specialized lasers are also available as stand-alone units.
      • Picosecond Pulsed Drivers

      • The picosecond pulsed diode laser drivers are designed as universal units that can control the dedicated laser or LED heads offered by PicoQuant. All drivers permit to control repetition rate and pulse energy of the attached heads. The drivers are available as single channel or multichannel units with manual or computer control. Their high quality and reliability are expressed by a unique 5-year limited warranty.

                                  • The ATM series attenuators are used to attenuate signals from e.g. Single Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) modules. The higher signal amplitude of the TTL pulses from these detectors exceeds the input voltage range for e.g. the PicoQuant TCSPC units. Available from PicoQuant are attenuators with 3 dB, 5 dB, 10 dB and 20 dB.

                                  • The SIA 400 module is a passive module designed to invert and attenuate (20 dB) TTL pulses produced e.g. by Single Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) modules to negative pulses compatible with PicoQuant TCSPC units. The SIA 400 has BNC connectors at both ends.

                                  • The PSM 50/51 power splitter (reflection free T-pad) allows a 50 Ohms RF source to feed two 50 Ohms loads simultaneously. This task cannot be performed by an ordinary T-pad without severe reflections and consequent signal distortion. This is particularly important in timing sensitive applications such as Time-Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC). Max. power dissipation 0.2 W. The power splitter are available with either BNC (PSM 50) or SMA (PSM 51) connectors.

                                  • PicoQuant can offer a range of special made signal cables with SMA or BNC connectors as well as specialized cables with Lemo connectors. For signal connections we recommend RG 223 cable. This cable type has a double braided silver plated screen which provides optimum shielding in timing sensitive applications such as Time-Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC)

                                • Randomness is an invaluable resource in many areas of science and technology ranging from Monte Carlo simulations to secure encryption methods. While computer generated random numbers can be used for some applications, they remain fundamentally non-random in the sense that anything generated by an algorithm is at least in principle predictable. However, quantum physics provides randomness which is unpredictable based on the fundamental laws of nature
