the pipe diameter.
The use of all surface thermometers applies
The greater the temperature gradient between the surface to be measured and
the ambient air, the more important is a thermal isolation of the measuring
point from the environment. In order to optimize the heat transport from the
surface to be measured to the sensor, heat conducting pastes should be used
if possible.
Components and Accessories

-
We can provide you with appropriate accessories and all the parts you need to install our HERTH temperature sensors. We can provide you with compression fittings, threaded sleeves and flanges. In addition, we always stock a wide range of thermoelectric leads and compensating cables or copper connection cables. Our transducers, controllers, digital thermometers, infrared thermometers and data loggers are highly available as well. Besides advice and designs, we support you with additional services relating to temperature measurement, such as calibrations in our own laboratory or calibrations on your premises.

HER6-/HER7 Protection Tubes
- HER6 or HER7 protection tubes are made of advanced
ceramics. Technical ceramics are well known, particularly wear-resistant and
very good corrosion and heat resistant. However, in many cases, their
fragility prevented a wide acceptance in practice. This relatively new
ceramic is particularly suitable for applications, which require a
combination of strength, wear resistance and mechanical and thermal shock
resistance. HER6-and HER7 ceramics are resistant against molten non-ferrous
metals. This, together with a combination of train and very high bending
strength up to 1250 ° C and very good thermal conductivity, results in the
following advantages:
- Long service life in non-ferrous metal smelt (1st choice for aluminium)
- No build-up of metal or slag to the outer surface
- No contamination of the liquid metal, very good thermal conductivity
- high mechanical strength and resistance to gas in the high temperature range
Features of the material HER7
HER7 was designed specifically for high stress at difficult conditions.HER7
thermocouple protection tubes are intended for use where the main focus is
on maximum resistance against abrasion and excellent thermal shock
resistance. We thus find an unique combination of high toughness and
hardness in this material. HER7 can be permanently used at 1300 ° C, it’s
short-term heat resistance is up to 1600 ° C.

ADJUSTABLE COMPRESSION FITTINGS

in furnaces and exhaust systems. Adjustable, gas-tight up to approx. 3 bar
(depending upon pipe-Ø D)

Radio systems
- Thermocouple socket boxes serve to simplify the process
of replacing the thermometers in thermotechnical systems of all kinds. The
socket boxes have standardized connectors for thermocouple plugs and can
thus be used for all standard thermocouples.
The disconnection/connection of the thermometers from/to the controller
takes place by unplugging/ plugging in the coded plug. This thus precludes
the risk of polarity reversal when replacing the thermometers.
Inspection of the wiring for the controller is very easy as you only need to
plug in a testing instrument.
Thermocouples of the following types:- NiCr-Ni (K)
- NiCrSi-NiSi (N)
- PtRh-Pt (S, R, B)

Thermocouple Socket Boxes
- The HFU 700 device group is a system for the wireless
transmission of temperature and moisture values. Thermocouples and
resistance sensors are used as sensors. In this way, customer-specific
solutions can be implemented in conjunction with different sensors. Data
transmission takes place in the 2.4 GHz range. A star-shaped wireless
personal area network (WPAN) is built up. The wireless modules used work in
accordance with the IEEE802.15.4 standard for low-rate WPANs.
Networks can be set up with up to 240 transmitter modules with one receiver.
2 wireless actuators can be used to increase the range. The networks can
also overlap without interfering with each other. These sensors are intended
to be used for carrying out measuring tasks in cases where wiring would be
disruptive or impossible. Possible applications are, for example, measuring
the temperature at rotating and mobile parts or for fermenting and smoking
processes in the food industry. Wireless solutions are also practical when
renovating existing applications. The receiver is supplied with 24 V. The
transmitters work with a lithium battery (3.3 V); these batteries have a
lifespan of up to 2 years, depending on the necessary transmit rhythm. The
transmitting capacity amounts to a max. 10 mW. It is thus possible to bridge
distances of 50 to 300 m (depending on the terrain or constructions).
Through the use of actuators, these can be further increased. Data
transmission takes place bidirectionally, resulting in the high degree of
interference resistance and availability of the network.
