Business Profile

Success always comes with a story

Since it was founded in 1921, SCHULTE Lagertechnik has been under constant development. Today, we are a leading manufacturer of industrial shelving systems and produce items such as shelving, pallet racking and steel mezzanines. Find out more about our history here.

The foundations of a tradition

Back in 1921, over 90 years ago, brothers Franz and Josef Schulte founded the Gebrüder Schulte metalworks. This was the start of a family and company tradition that is now being continued in its third generation.

Difficult times and growth

The Great Depression of 1929 hit our home in Germany's Sauerland region hard. Ten years later, the Second World War began. Yet the company's founders worked with great determination to bring Gebrüder Schulte through these difficult times.

With the German Wirtschaftswunder, however, the business finally hit the road to success, as growth and development characterised our development in the 1950s and 1960s. In 1960, we starting producing household shelving.

Room for growth

In 1971, SCHULTE Lagertechnik moved to the "Zum Dümpel" industrial estate, where we continued to grow. From here, we now manufacture our products with the help of over 400 employees who work in a production and storage area covering more than 45,000 m² Shelving for industry.

We produced our first industrial shelving in 1982 and added heavy-duty shelving to our range in 1989. The construction of a high-bay warehouse in 1999 signalled our transition to a systems manufacturer and our first foray into large-scale projects.

Arriving in the 21st century

Innovations and comprehensive service are our factors for success in the new millennium. In 2003, we launched the MULTIplus shelf generation. This was followed by the mezzanine system in 2011 and the multifunctional support in 2012.

We offer our trade partners and customers a wide range of services relating to shelving and warehouse logistics. For example, we have been conducting shelving inspections since 2009. 2013 saw the start of the SCHULTE Academy, our internal training centre for trade partners.

In 2011, SCHULTE Lagertechnik celebrated its 90th birthday and the introduction of the mezzanine systems. 2012 we present the multifunctional supports.

In the year 2013 we open our SCHULTE Academy, our training center for trading partners. In the year 2014 we increase the production capacity by installing an additional shelf street. An additional high-bay warehouse also ensures an increased delivery performance since 2014. Would the company's founders have seen that coming? It's impossible to say, but we are certainly looking forward to the future with anticipation.
