    The distinguishing feature of our ex-protected trucks is that they have been designed from the outset for operation in potentially explosive zones, not simply “converted” from a non-ex truck. As Sichelschmidt does not adapt existing machines, users can be assured of the utmost performance and safety levels. Each individual component – from the motor to the brakes and the forks – is specifically constructed to rule out any risk of explosion. Sichelschmidt electric forklifts from the ex-protected range are all tested and certified by the stated relevant authority (e.g. by the Physical Technical Federal Establishment in Braunschweig/ the PTB or the TÜV North CERT), and for the USA and Canada come with a Factory Mutual (FM) stamp of approval.

    The ATEX risk analysis will determine whether you need a truck for Zone 1 or Zone 2. We offer certified electric trucks compliant for both risk categories –specifically designed for these demanding working environments!

              • How can you ensure stable storing and Picking of loads up to a height of 5070 mm with a pedestrian truck? It’s easy with a Sichelschmidt d 500, which offers improved stability with a wider base incorporated into its solid design.

              • With capacities of up to 1250 kg and lift heights of 3500 mm, the d 600 is an indispensable asset in practically any warehouse. Its solid structure assures stability for enhanced safety.

              • d800 ASM - Work shop crane

              • Flexibility and freedom of movement: These properties are in demand in industrial production - also in the third dimension, for lifting, positioning and moving of medium to heavy loads in confined spaces. These requirements can best be implemented with a d800 ASM crane. For handling of loads up to three tons when there is no overhead crane available and a simple forklift just won’t do the job. Also available as ex-protected version for Zones 1 and 2.

              Fast runs and compact operation in the aisles: Sichelschmidt’s 4-way trucks open up a whole new dimension when it comes to the handling of long loads. With the push of a button the machines can be steered sideways as easily as in forward mode: a true multi-directional forklift.

                  • Perfect companion in 4-way maneuverability
                    If you need to transport long loads, the M 900 is your solution, as it can be precisely and safely operated in “sideways” mode. Thus a 4-directional truck becomes a multi-directional one, with capacities of up 3000 kg and standard lift heights of 7400 mm - the perfect machine for handling long and cumbersome loads.

              • Ex-protection and salt water: Trucks for extreme working conditions
                The working conditions in offshore applications are extremely harsh. As well as ensuring compliance with ex-protection directives, the forklift’s need to be able to withstand the highly corrosive salt water environment. Sichelschmidt has been building trucks for this particularly demanding environment since 1981, and the products stand out for their extreme durability and proven corrosion protection and specialized charging system.

                DESIGN FEATURES

                Intelligent design features
                Sichelschmidt’s offshore trucks are not only wholly compliant with ex-protection directives, but are also corrosion proof and thereby resistant to salt water. Even after prolonged exposure to the corrosive elements of this environment, the component protection package enables reliable operation with no unscheduled down time. For example:

                • The pistons in all the hydraulic cylinders are chemically nickel and chromium plated.
                • All painted components are treated with salt water resistant undercoat or with a corrosion proof double-pack paint.
                • Special seals protect components such as hydraulic valves, handbrake and other operating controls from spray water seepage.

                CHARGING

                Innovative battery charging technology
                Battery charging on oil platforms and supply ships is a particularly challenging procedure as it has to be carried out in ex-protected zones. To make life easier and safer, Sichelschmidt has developed a charging box which protects the battery and charging device from the surrounding environment. Should the box be opened during charging, the process is immediately interrupted, guaranteeing secure battery charging in potentially explosive environments.

Sichelschmidt has comprehensive experience in the design and manufacture of special builds: handling devices for the paint manufacturing sector, tailor made commissioning trucks, very compact automated systems for material transportation on oil platforms, for example.
