      • Three Screw Pumps

      • Pumping liquids is a demanding task.
        When selecting and dimensioning a three screw pump, the pumped liquid, the operating conditions, the installation site as well as the standards, guidelines and directives have to be taken into consideration. A wealth of knowledge is required in order to avoid errors.
        KRAL three screw pumps have existed since 1950. The acquired experience is passed on from generation to generation and extended continuously. Thus ensuring employees with excellent knowledge and further training. Our customers profit from our advisory skills.

        High power density.
        Space for setting up or installing three screw pumps is expensive or often short.
        KRAL three screw pumps offer high delivery rates at small space requirements in comparison to other pump types.

        Good control capabilities.
        The delivery rate of a three screw pump depends strongly on the speed.
        If the delivery rate has to be varied, a controller has to change the rotational speed.
        The complexity of the controller design depends on the delivery rate characteristics of the screw pump.
        In contrast to many other functional principles, KRAL three screw pumps have linear delivery rate characteristics. Therefore they can be controlled simply and inexpensively by means of a frequency converter.

        Low-pulsation transporting.
        Pressure pulsations of the liquid can damage the three screw pump, the system and the pumped liquid.
        The strength of the pulsation depends on the functional principle of the pump. Piston and gear pumps cause considerably more pulsations than a three screw pump.
        KRAL three screw pumps feed product-conservingly. The pumped liquid is not pressed, there are no pressure pulses that can damage the piping and other components or trigger vibrations. In addition, KRAL three screw pumps are very quiet.

          • The KRAL three screw pump CK is very compact and least expensive. Its short main screw and construction is achieved by using a shaft seal ring. The CK is often supplied with a suction pipe for vertical in tank installation.

            The KRAL three screw pump CL has a longer main screw. It is therefore capable of higher pressures and has sufficient space for a wide range of shaft seals.

            The KRAL three screw pump CG is a cartridge pump (insert pump) design with a variety of options for safety or bypass valves. The outer casing is either cast iron or fabricated steel. The steel cased version allows for almost any location, size and type of liquid connection.

          KRAL flowmeters measures the flow of liquids. KRAL is the first choice when it comes to measuring anything from low-viscosity liquids like petrol, acids and alkalis to high-viscosity liquids such as printing inks and bitumen.

          Measurement accuracy.
          The precision of the measurement is unmatched: The KRAL flowmeter is accurate to ± 0.1% of rate over a wide flow and viscosity range. The repeatability is better than ± 0.01%. The long working life and stability over time show that robustness and precision are not mutually exclusive.

          The measuring principe.
          The KRAL flowmeter is a very compact positive displacement meter. The measurement chamber consists of the casing and two screw spindles. The spindles continuously divide the liquid in a precision made closed measuring- chamber – nothing escapes. The precisely measured value is calculated from the known measuring- chambervolume and the spindle rotation speed.

          Silent operation.
          Other flowmeter technologies can produce noise levels as high as 100 dBA, requiring ear protection for operating personnel. In comparison the KRAL flowmeter is barely audible.

          Understandable measuring technology.
          The measurement values are calculated understandably and accurately. The liquid flow drives the spindles. Pole wheels generate impulses in the sensor. Each pulse from the sensor represents a precisely calibrated volume.

            • In booster modules of ocean-going ships, burner stations and other industrial applications, dial gauges for direct reading of the fuel quantity are provided in the plant layout. Anyone who has already opted for a KRAL pump station series DKC/DMC, has it now very easy to get precise readings.
              Technological head start through innovation.

              Under this motto KRAL sets trends in the field of pumping and measuring liquids. The OMA series of KRAL flowmeters can be mounted very easily to any KRAL DKC/DMC pump station. Since all DKC/DMC pump stations are already prepared for the installation of the new precision flowmeters, the flowmeter OMA can be subsequently purchased as an accessory and simply screwed with very little effort. This saves time and money. The new flowmeter OMA can do much more than the previously often used, simple and outdated dial gauges with mechanical display.

            • Electronic units that are coordinated to KRAL flowmeters.
              Users of conventional universal display units often cannot make use of their device’s options. There is often a lack of functions that are important for special applications.
              KRAL electronic units aid in the performance of the KRAL flowmeters. The high quality electronic componentsand evaluation algorithms used, maintain precisely measured flow values to be shown on the display as well as the signal outputs.

              Perfect Operation, informative Display.
              A display unit must supply the required information and assure accurate operation.
              The electronics always display the measured flow values with their units. The display is clear and very easy to read. There is a choice of four languages. KRAL sets up the units, the calibration factors and the density tables to meet customer specifications. If you need to make changes, an easy to follow menu is available including configuration software for PCs. Contrast and brightness are adjustable.

              Data Evaluation, Signal forwarding.
              KRAL provides special PC software for data capture, storage and evaluation as an option. Immediate data analysis allows instant result of set-up and installation.
              Universal signal forwarding includes scalable analog and pulse outputs, as well as a Modbus RTU interface. Additional displays can be connected for remote indication.

              Self-diagnostic and Monitoring.
              The flow and temperature ranges of the flowmeters are stored in the electronics and if values are exceeded then the alarms are displayed.
              A bypass relay can be activated using flow rate limit value. The function of the temperature sensors is monitored. Knowing the temperature, the flow volume, the flow direction and the consumption assures the integrity of the installation.
