The latest development within hullprotection of advanced light weight fibre reinforced plastic boats. The bumper was developed for high speed hydrojet driven combat boats for the Swedish Marine Defence in order to utilize the properties in advanced fibres and materials in combination with the latest techniques of boatbuilding.The bumper allows the boat to hit rocks, stones and other material without destroying/wearing down the fibre reinforced plastic hull. The patented Beach Bumper (PCT / SE 95 / 00750) is a premoulded part which is positioned in the mould of the hull and then fully intergrated when the fibre reinforced plastic layers are applied on top of it. The pretreated part gets the strongest possible chemical adhesion, providing maximal wear - and impact protection. Impact tests of Trekollan protected laminate has proved its superior advantages in comparison to other protection materials.It distributes and dampens the impact forces at the same time. The stiff but elastic material in combination with the low friction makes an exellent combination as "Beach Bumper" material. Trekollan is the brandname of our polyurethane material, with characteristics as of rubber but with much better wear resistance, rigidty and elasticity. Trekollan Beach Bumpers are used in work boats, marine boats, landing boats as well as leisure boats.
