Maxum Marine

Company Profile

Based in Arlington, Washington, Maxum is one of the world's largest manufacturers of fiberglass pleasure boats. The company is an affiliate of US Marine, which is a division of the Brunswick Corp. (owner of Sea Ray Boats, Mercury Marine and other holdings). Created in 1987, Maxum is intended to be an upscale complement to the company's Bayliner manufacturing operation. The Maxum fleet began with the introduction of a 17-foot runabout in 1988. The line has grown at a healthy rate in the years since then, and now includes models from 17 to 46 feet in length. Maxum uses Alias -- one of the most advanced three-dimensional computer animation systems available to test its cruisers against thousands of scenarios before a single inch of fiberglass is ever laid. This allows Maxum's engineers to work in real time, with real numbers, which amounts to greater precision. The company uses advanced technology to create advanced cruiser designs.
