        • Sifting and Sorting

            • Zig Zag Air Separator

            • The JOEST Zig Zag Air Separator is a high-performance cascade separator for the separation of light and heavy fractions from dry, free-flowing bulk materials. It is based on the principle of multi-pass cross-flow separation, in which air is introduced from below into a zig-zag shaped channel. This allows light particles to be carried upward, while heavier components fall downward.

Air routing can be configured as recirculation, partial recirculation, or suction mode. JOEST offers standard models, patented hybrid versions for fine particles, laboratory configurations, and custom solutions – ideal for applications in the recycling or food industries. The modular design enables tailored adjustments to various separation tasks.

            • Separation Table

            • The JOEST Separation Table is the ideal solution for separating dry, free-flowing bulk materials with particle sizes of up to approx. 20 mm. The system uses a fluidized bed in which the material behaves like a liquid under the combined action of air flow and vibration: heavy particles sink to the bottom, while light particles “float” on top – ensuring clean, reliable separation even for heterogeneous material streams.

The Separation Table is suitable for a wide range of recycling applications, such as cable granulate, tire granulate, ASR or shredder fines, construction debris, or glass. It is particularly effective when combined with a preceding JOEST Air Separator, which removes ultra-light fractions (e.g. films, dust, or fluff) in advance – resulting in more stable fluidization conditions, higher throughput, and consistently precise separation quality.

            • AirVibe Vibratory Air Separator

            • The JOEST AirVibe is a high-performance sorting system for dry classification of coarse bulk materials up to 300 mm – ideal for demanding recycling processes. By combining cross-flow sifting and ballistic separation, materials are precisely separated by density, shape, and surface – even in heavily contaminated material streams.

The three-stage system reliably separates heavy material, light material, and ultra-light material (e.g. foils or dust) into separate fractions. Thanks to its compact design, modular structure, and optional recirculating air operation, the AirVibe can be flexibly integrated into existing plants.

Typical applications include municipal and commercial waste, construction debris, glass, or RDF. With throughput capacities of up to 15 t/h – especially for glass – the AirVibe offers a low-maintenance, space-saving, and economical solution for modern material stream separation, even without complex filter technology.

            • J-Flow Air Seperator

            • The JOEST J-Flow is a compact gravity separator with an internal air circulation system, specifically designed for the reliable separation of light fractions from free-flowing bulk materials. It is primarily used in metal recycling applications – such as ASR (Automotive Shredder Residue), SLF (Shredder Light Fraction), or SHF (Shredder Heavy Fraction) systems – and upstream of optical sorters, where it effectively removes contaminants like fluff, films, textiles, or foam materials, significantly improving the quality of downstream metal fractions. Thanks to its integrated airflow system and compact design, the J-Flow can also be easily retrofitted into existing plants. It operates efficiently with particle sizes between 10 mm and 120 mm, and is also capable of handling elongated parts up to approx. 300 mm. For optimal results, pre-sorting by grain size classes – e.g. 10–50 mm or 50–120 mm – is recommended.
            • Air Cone Separators

            • The Air Cone Separator from JOEST reliably separates light fine material from heavy coarse material – even in complex material mixtures. It is based on a proven cross-flow separation method with an additional counter-flow separation zone for targeted post-separation of the light fraction.

The system is highly versatile and can be used, for example, for alternative fuels, plastic granules, wood pellets, or recycling materials such as shredded used tires. Depending on the requirements, JOEST offers various designs – for particularly dust-intensive processes, high volume flows, or poorly free-flowing materials.

Thanks to its compact design, high throughput capacity, and precise separation accuracy – even with fibrous or flat materials – the Air Cone Separator is a cost-effective solution for numerous industrial applications.

                      • JOEST Linear motion screens are high-performance machines for pre-classification, control screening, or final classification of bulk materials ranging from fine to coarse particles. Thanks to their linear motion, they can be precisely adapted to the screening behavior of different materials – whether for uniform particle size distribution, high throughput, or demanding process conditions.

The machines are available with various drive concepts – from magnetic drives and unbalanced motors to exciter drives – and come in different structural designs. JOEST linear motion screens are available in many versions – as single-deck or multi-deck units, in horizontal or inclined configurations, as well as multi-slope or banana screens. All designs are easily accessible and allow for efficient cleaning; optionally available with ATEX-compliant features.

Thanks to their modular design, they can be used in almost all industrial sectors – from mining & minerals, stone and earth industries, and metal & glass recycling to food and chemical production.

                      • Small Screens

                      • The JOEST small screen is a particularly compact version of a linear vibrating screen, specifically designed for fine and coarse screening of small material quantities. Equipped with JOEST’s proven JD dosing drives, the system is ideally suited for separating oversized particles, fines, or dust – for example, in plastic granulate processing, the food industry, or the chemical sector.

Thanks to clamped screen troughs and a modular, easily accessible design, the small screen allows for especially quick and thorough cleaning – a clear advantage in applications with frequent product changes. The infinitely adjustable vibration amplitude is controlled via an integrated thyristor controller, allowing precise adaptation of the machine to the screening material.
