High positive – that’s
AVANTEC.
AVANTEC is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high positive milling tools. Established in 1989 by Gustav Werthwein, who then worked with a team of three, AVANTEC has evolved into a company of 140 employees with its own representatives in the United States, Italy, Austria and China.
We work in partnership with the engineering and production teams of machine
tool manufacturers, OEMs, suppliers and many medium-sized manufacturers to
develop innovative solutions and strategies for challenging tasks and
materials – our high positive milling tools are being deployed with great
success in sectors such as the automotive industry, at energy utilities,
machine engineering enterprises and many other industries.

Your success with AVANTEC milling cutters
… is the result of a perfect combination of numerous factors. We constantly
optimize and improve the micro-geometrics of our indexable inserts, test new
finishing processes and different substrates.
In addition to material-related experiments, we conduct tests in which we
machine select work pieces with different milling strategies. Only the best
combinations are approved for serial production.

- Longer tool life
- Optimum change accuracy
Broaching tools
For stable and reliable broaching processes
To recap the story: When broaching the keyways for our tool bodies, our production team kept running into unexpected problems. This caused vexation in the team. This vexation remained. Then we designed a specific tool. No more vexation. Instead, we have a stable and reliable broaching process. We are pleased. Our new broaching tool has been cleared for distributionWe call it BR20.
