          • Traceability of industrial components begins with marking, which can be done by laser, dot peen, or scribing systems. Marking a part consists in deforming or chemically modifying the material in order to display a text, a logo or a 2D code readable by an operator or by a camera. We offer high quality systems in all marking technologies.
              • LASER MARKING TECHNOLOGY

              • Complete part traceability is an essential component for compliance with ISO quality standards. Traceability begins with part marking, and choosing laser marking technology allows manufacturers to automate marking operations and ensure a high level of control.

                This technology consists of a high frequency beam generated from a laser source. This beam is then amplified and directed towards a part to be marked via a series of rotating mirrors. The reaction that takes place inside the material marked consists of 3 distinct processes:
                • Engraving: a groove is created in the first layers of the material
                • Annealing: the color of the target material is altered to enhance the contrast
                • Foaming: the coating aspect is altered.
              • SCRIBING TECHNOLOGY

              • Precise, Reduced Noise Marking
                Scribing is a marking process whereby the mark (text, logo, codes) is produced by a carbide or diamond tip that penetrates and indents the surface. This produces a deep groove that forms continuous lines across round, concave, flat, or arched surfaces, and on almost any material.

                Also called "drop and drag" or "scratch marking," scribe marking machines are an ideal choice for applications where noise level limitations are imposed. If dot peen markers are considered too noisy when used on steel pipe, for example, a pneumatic scribe machine might be preferred. SIC Marking's scribing technology guarantees a high quality mark and is ideal for requirements that include Optical Character Recognition (OCR).
              • DOT PEEN TECHNOLOGY

              • Rapid, high performance dot peen marking solution
                Dot peen engraving machines work by electromechanically striking a carbide or diamond stylus assembly against the surface of a part to be marked. The result is a succession of dots to create digits, text, logos, and 2D data matrix codes. Each such dot is the result of a pulsed current that runs through a solenoid, punches a magnet toward the surface, and subsequently returns the stylus to its starting position, awaiting the next pulse. Because each pulse occurs in only a fraction of a second, an entire 2D data matrix code, for example, can be completed in seconds (depending on the size).

                Frequency can be adjusted by controlling the speed of the X and Y axes movements. What makes SIC Marking's dot peen marking systems so unique is the constant measurement of the electrical current between each pulse. This allows for constant, precise control of the impact consistency.

                          The XXL-Box allows the marking of large parts. With a 820 mm depth and the ability to mark 520 mm parts high, this marking station has the largest volume on the market.

                          The XXL-Box is equipped with a Ytterbium-doped fiber laser source. This latest generation technology is extremely durable, easy to implement and requires no maintenance costs.

                          Capable of marking alphanumeric, barcode and 2D Datamatrix codes in clear or deep text, the SIC MARKING laser marks all metals and plastics. The result obtained is readable with the naked eye or by proofreading cameras in a few hundredths of a second.

                        • SIC Marking's L-Box Laser Marking System was engineered with the energetic bustle of industrial environments in mind. It is equipped with a high powered, pulsed wave ytterbium-doped fiber laser that is easy to operate, even for users with minimal training in laser technology.

                          Its robust and 100% solid steel construction are a clever contrast to its compact and eye-catchingly sleek design. The retractable cover is a solid steel construction that opens on all three sides, and its handle has been ergonomically designed to maximize user comfort and minimize fatigue. Its Class 1 rated security features an integrated safety loop that automatically terminates the laser when the door is opened.

                          The marking window is a full 100 mm x 100 mm (3.9" x 3.9"), with an option for 170 mm x 170 mm, and will mark components with heights of up to 235 mm (9.3"), and lengths of up to 450 mm (17.7").                           As its name suggests, SIC’s XL-BOX is the flagship among a range of laser workstations, with features and dimensions designed to increase productivity and adapt to the evolving needs of manufacturing and production lines.

                          Modeled after the ever popular L-BOX, XL-BOX has larger internal dimensions, with a 570 x 564 mm work area that more comfortably accommodates larger sized components. Constructed of solid steel, it’s a compact 655 mm wide enabling its user to work comfortably when loading/unloading parts to be marked.

                          Much larger than its predecessor, XL-BOX is equipped with a pneumatically-powered, intuitively secure door that automatically locks when the cycle starts and opens when the marking is finished. Operated with the push of a button, it’s a smooth action entry that allows access on all three sides and is equipped with a large viewing window. The “smart” Z-axis operates on a 235 mm (9-1/4”) motorized system; with the additional help of two red focal pointers, focusing a precise mark is simple.

                        • The ec1 column-mounted dot peen marking system is suited for table top marking in any industrial environment.
