P&O Nedlloyd Container Line, one of the premier global shipping lines and international logistics provider, is a joint 50:50 joint venture between Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company and Royal Nedlloyd NV. P&O Nedlloyd is the world's second largest container shipping company by capacity operating with 166 vessels, totalling 782,977 teu. P&O Nedlloyd's global liner network offers 76 routes and 249 direct call ports. Since its formation in December 1996, P&O Nedlloyd has increased its volume by over 40 per cent and continues to build solidly for the future. In 2001, P&O Nedlloyd's turnover was US$4.7 billion. These elements, combined with well-developed feeder lines, extensive inland transport capabilities and first-rate port facilities, form the base of our product.
