  • FIRST Robotics

  • FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is a unique varsity sport of the mind designed to help high school students discover how interesting and rewarding the life of engineers and researchers can be.

FIRST challenges teams of young people and their mentors to solve a common problem in a six-week timeframe using a standard "kit of parts" and a common set of rules. Teams build robots from the parts and enter them in a series of competitions designed by Dean Kamen, Dr. Woodie Flowers, and a committee of engineers and other professionals.

FIRST redefines 'winning' for participants. Teams are rewarded for excellence in design, demonstrated team spirit, gracious professionalism, maturity, and ability to overcome obstacles. Winning is a secondary goal, but means forming lasting partnerships.

What is unique about the FRC program?
    • It is a sport where participants play with professionals and learn from them
    • Designing and building a robot is a fascinating real-world experience
    • Competing on stage brings participants as much excitement and adrenaline as conventional varsity tournaments
    • The game rules are different every year

      Honolulu, HI

Join us as we embark on our first FRC regional at our hometown; competing against 39 other teams from Hawaii, Louisiana, and Taiwan. A whole new competition awaits for our very own drive team as they prepare to rebound rumble!

Mahalo to teams 2090 and 3881, for being great alliance partners in the elimination matches, literally until the very end. Going through three sets of tiebreaker is tiring, but you folks gave your best efforts on each match that we applaud your tenacity.
    • Central Valley Regional

    • April 5-7, 2012
      Madera, CA

Follow us in our adventure to California - before, during, and after the inaugural event of the Central Valley Regional. Even though Team 368 had prior experience from Hawaii Regional, it's no easy journey for the only Hawaii team with 47 teams competing; some of which are previous world champions.

Mahalo to teams 1266 and 2643, for being amazing alliance partners in our 8th seeded alliance for elimination matches. We knew we were going against the 1st seeded alliance in quarterfinals, but we made sure they worked hard for those wins by working together in stacking a lot of points through hybrid, tele-op, and balancing.
