RWV2

- The DK-series are 1-station positioners with a rotary and a tilt axis. The rotary axis is endlessly rotating. The tilt axis range is +/- 90°.

Two DK-series models are available. The DK-250 and DK-500 models are single-sided positioners. The DK-1000, DK-1500 and DK-2500 positioners have an additional tailstock for the tilt axis.

TR-1000
- The TR-1000 positioner provides one tilting axis and one rotational axis. Despite the compact design, it is one of the most powerful positioners for welding applications.
The ergonomic loading height, which is determined by the corresponding base, enables the implementation of flexible system concepts.
This positioner can handle work pieces with a maximum diameter of 1200 mm and weighing up to 1000 kg. The distance between the centre of gravity of the welding structure and the faceplate can be up to 400 mm.
This enables realistic loading with the maximum permitted weight. Due to two infinitely rotating welding mass transformers (2 x 360A), two robots can weld simultaneously in the system.

Abrasive Blasting

Abrasive blasting is the operation of propelling a stream of abrasive material against a surface under high pressure, in order to smooth, roughen or shape a surface or remove surface contaminants. A pressurised fluid - typically compressed air - is used ad a media to propel the blasting material. This process is mainly used to clean or prepare surfaces of parts to be painted, or to clean them.
All Motoman Handling robots are well suited to automate this procedure, as they provide large operating workspaces and high reorientation speeds. Their programming flexibility allows perfect adjustment of trajectories, distance and blasting direction, either by conventional teaching methods, or by (semi-) automatic path generation through Offline Simulation or CAD/CAM tools.

Industrial robots can be used to automate the tasks involved with putting together or disassembling a product, such as industrial or automotive components and machinery, furniture, or electronics components. Dispensing, Sealing

Motoman Robots are commonly used for consistent application of fluid and adhesive material, due to their ability to follow an accurate path with a precisely controlled speed. Applications are sealing, dosing, dispensing, glueing and application of insulation material. Robots work with material pumps, regulators, and dispensing guns to apply a material such as sealant, adhesive, or washing solution to a stationary or moving part. In most of those dispensing applications, the robot does not manipulate the dosing tool directly - the robot is handling the part under a dispensing tool, and the dispensing unit is stationary. This is much better for the process stability of the media supply.

The differentiation point is that the realisation of a collaborative application should include elements of Human-Robot Coexistence, Cooperation and Collaboration. The growth in global collaborative robot sales has been phenomenal, but mainly not because they are allowing safe cooperation with humans, but because configuration, commissioning and operating is so easy. Laser Hardening

Laser hardening is a method aimed at improving component wear behaviour.
During laser hardening, the energy from the laser beam is applied directly to the component surface. The surface layer is heated up to the hardening temperature (>1000°C) in a reduced area within a very short period of time. When laser hardening, the laser beam and its adjustable focal spot are guided by a robot over the surfaces to be hardened.
For this process, you will need the high precision robotic control over TCP Path and speed which distinguishes Motoman robots from other brands.

Laser welding is a process used to join together metals or thermoplastics using a laser beam to form a weld. Moving robots in mobile platforms from place to place automatically - this exciting idea has been realized in many single and pilot projects over the last years. Multi-Machine operations, robots working without classical desks, case picking, automatic refill of storages in retail logistics ...
Project realization was often impaired by technical challenges, like power supply of the robot / tool, battery endurance, reach/payload, gripper technology, vision technology, navigation and positioning accuracy, path and job planning, communication to MES/ERP Systems or fleet managing software, and safety consideration when operating the platform in the middle of workers. In the end - this technology is waiting for a mass production breakthrough. In the end the pick rates compared to manual work were lower, and the cost of the complete installation were good to rectify technology scouting, but not a proper return on investment of a real application.

Painting, Spraying

Painting or coating production tasks are exactly what robots are designed for. Robots also spray on solvent-based paints with or without high voltage, always achieving the same results. Pallet Repair

This world's transport logistics is based on pallets. While single pallets will be recycled and finally burned, pool pallets are taken back and repaired if damaged. Doing this manually in pallet repair centers means lifting 30kg pallets from staples, using dangerous tiger saws and nailing for the workers. Motoman Robots are shifting this dangerous work to robots and are able to assemble custom pallets automatically, including handling and glueing. The repair works both with open pool pallets and closed pool pallets.

Picking and Packing is a variation of Pick & Place for Packaging applications, where the placing motion is modified to fill parts into containers, boxes or crates. Some people say PPP - Pick, Place and Pack. Therefore, it is a core process in Packaging Industry and Logistics. Compared to classical Pick&Place, the Placing motion of a packaging operation requires some more motion versatility to place or stack parts in a certain set-down pattern, this is why 6-axis GP Series robots are used here. When placing parts into Carton boxes, flexible trajectories could be required to prevent side walls or lid of cartons to fold in.
Depending on the gripper design, all kind of workpieces like boxes, bottles, bags can be packed.
Pick & Place

A pick-and-place robot is used to automate the process of picking up objects and placing them onto a surface in a set position and orientation. This action is frequently used to sort or stage products in a specific array for a downstream process, such as trays or cases, where fixed machinery or another robot can properly handle the products. Typical pick & place jobs are used for high speed picking, collating, part-transfer, singulation, sorting and inspection. In many cases, parts are coming along a conveyor belt, and the pick & place motion helps to sort or arrange the parts into a certain order at the place location.
Pick and Pack is a variation of Pick & Place, used on Packaging, where the placing motion is more complex to fill containers, boxes or crates. Some people say PPP - Pick, Place and Pack. Terminology is not standardized in this field.

The flange of the outer panel is bent over the inner panel and the reinforcement panel in several steps by means of the roller hemming head. Typically used in Automotive Industry for doors and hoods.
