Programs
Demo Days
- Robots are exciting! They are also valuable educational
tools that can inspire students and teach them about science, technology,
engineering and math (STEM).
With Demo Days, iRobot brings interactive presentations and robot
demonstrations to K-12 schools, showing how robots are making a difference
in people's lives.
iRobot also hosts tours of our corporate headquarters in Bedford, MA for
small school groups.
STREAM
- As part of the STEM educational outreach program, iRobot
hosts STREAM, an annual workshop for K-12 teachers.
Designed in partnership with the University of Massachusetts Lowell, the
interactive STREAM workshop shows teachers the many ways robots can be used
as instructional tools for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)
education.
At the workshop, K-12 educators learn how their peers are successfully using
robots to teach STEM-related subjects. In addition, representatives from
Massachusetts-based technology companies talk about the career opportunities
that exist for students interested working in the robotics field and other
STEM-related industries.
20 in 20 Robotics Roadshow
- iRobot is celebrating 20 years in business by bringing an
exciting robotics roadshow to students across Massachusetts.
iRobot's demo team is traveling to schools all over the state this fall,
giving 20 interactive presentations about robotics technology to elementary,
middle and high school students.
Be a part of the fun! Follow the demo team's journey on the virtual map,
talk with team members on Twitter and check out the blog for pictures,
videos and more.
National Robotics Week
- National Robotics Week recognizes robotics technology as
a pillar of 21-century American innovation, highlights its growing
importance in a wide variety of professions and underscores its ability to
get students excited about technology education.
As founding co-sponsor of National Robotics Week, iRobot works with a
variety of companies, universities and non-profit organizations to give
students hands-on experience with robots.
For more information or to get involved, visit the National Robotics Week
website.
Other Programs & Partnerships
- iRobot partners with a variety of organizations to
provide teachers and students with hands-on experience with robots.
Botball
Botball is an international robotics competition for middle and high school
students which teaches students engineering and computer science skills.
Every Botball team uses an iRobot Create as the base for one of the two
autonomous robots they design, build and program for the competition.
ARTSI Alliance
iRobot serves on the advisory board of the ARTSI (Advancing Robotics
Technology for Societal Impact) Alliance, an NSF-sponsored collaborative
education and research project centered around robotics for healthcare, the
arts, and entrepreneurship.
Educational Resources
Resources for students, teachers and parents
- STEM features a wide variety of educational
robot-related resources for students, teachers and parents, including things
to do, teaching resources and much more.
One of the goals of the STEM website is to provide
students, educators and parents with the resources they need to enhance STEM
education. STEM provides robotics resources for elementary school, middle
school, high school and college.
