Positioning lasers  Light the way
Positioning lasers are always used where precision in alignment and positioning is required. They indicate certain positions safely and reliably on a wide variety of materials. As line lasers, they are often used on band saws, cross-cut saws, press brakes and various cutting machines. Therefore they are often found in the wood, metal or textile industry. As cross lasers, these laser modules reliably mark points for drilling or other processing steps. With the help of circular lasers, the correct positioning of round objects is made much easier.
Lasers for machine vision from Z-LASER are used as structured illumination in many machine vision systems. The combination of laser illumination and machine vision offers interesting possibilities for the automation of optical quality control. With this form of illumination the spatial contours of moving and non-moving objects can be captured.
The lasers are used in combination with an industrial camera to detect and measure defects, presence, diameter, edges, gaps and more. Depending on the type of objects to be examined, line lasers with homogeneous and thin line projections or different patterns (multi lines, dot grids, grid structures, random patterns etc.) as well as wavelengths (blue, green, red, IR) are usually used.
Industrial laser projectors serve as optical guidance systems. In many manufacturing processes, they allow working without templates by indicating directly on the workpiece how tools have to be positioned or material has to be mounted.
This can be the case, for example, in welding and assembly or in so-called light guide systems. In this way, laser projectors guide employees step-by-step through the assembly process.
The laser projectors from Z-LASER are particularly convincing due to their fast and stable projection with a high repetition rate, so that visual flickering is reduced or at best prevented. The Z-LASER laser projectors are optimized for 2D and 3D applications and offer a highly accurate projection in the sub-millimeter range. The optical angles (80° x 80°) allow the coverage of large working areas.
Z-LASER has a comprehensive portfolio of flexibly configurable laser modules and laser projectors. Special requirements also deserve special solutions. Z-LASER is the right partner for the development of your individual laser solutions. The Z-LASER ZQ1-MagicLine has been specially developed for applications that require high visibility and reliable eye safety. With an impressive optical power of 600 mW in laser class 2M, this positioning laser sets new standards in terms of power, visibility and safety.
Its wavelength of 520 nm (green laser line) maximises visibility for the human eye. This makes the Z-LASER ZQ1-MagicLine the ideal tool for a wide range of industrial applications, from precise alignment in metalworking to exact positioning in logistics. The aperture angle of 70° and the option of focussing the line width individually offer additional flexibility and adaptability to specific requirements.
The ZLP2-HighPower laser projector not only impresses with its particularly robust and high-quality workmanship. In addition to optimized software, the inner workings with a more powerful laser source, new mechanics and revised electronics also set new standards. The products of the ZM18 series set the standard for modern laser modules for industrial use. You can select the right laser for your positioning application from more than 1,000 different variants.
The compact, sensor-like design enables easy integration into existing machines or systems. Easy-to-operate focussing optics complete the product. It’s the perfect allrounder!
The ZA product range, which has proven itself for many years, will be replaced by the new ZAT battery laser in the near future.
The battery-powered ZAT has been successfully used in the Belt Aligner Set for years and is a high-quality alternative to the previous bestseller ZA: the laser is built into a stable metal housing and the power source (AA battery or rechargeable battery) is located directly under the screw cap. A small button at the end of the housing is used for turning the laser on and off.
With the ZLP2, the performance features of the ZLP family have been consistently advanced. For example, the laser projector features an unprecedented beam quality due to the use of fiber-coupled laser sources. With an accuracy of 0.25mm/m working distance, the laser projector is predestined for classic industries such as wood and stone processing as well as for cross-industry applications with composite materials.
The ZX-laser series offers diverse, application specific customization possibilities. The user can choose from violett to infrared wavelengths depending on the application and material to be inspected. The focusing optics achieves a boresight of less than 0.8 mRad. The industrial-suited design along with stable performance works perfectly as an integrated module in machine vision applications, sensors or processing machines. The laser module contains no driver electronics (ZX10-ND) and is therefore ideally suited for OEM applications. Upon request, licensing and integration of the Z-LASER electronics can be provided (ZX10-LD).
The LP-HFD2 is the successor of our proven LP-HFD laser projector. In addition to its new casing, and its IP65 protection class, special emphasis was placed on temperature stability during development. Fiber-coupled lasers with a red and/or green beam source, and an output power of 7 mW are used. If required, stronger laser sources of up to 14 mW can be used. Standard focus optics can be achieved at a distance of 0.5 m to 7 m. With a tele-optic, distances up to 14 m are possible.
Cooling options such as air or water cooling are available for use at higher ambient temperatures. Ethernet is the typical data connection mode. In addition, communication via Profinet or a serial connection is possible.
The ZRG-F positioning laser is the only laser in a Ø40 mm casing that offers a green dot and line projection. The beam focusing option ensures top visibility.
The large cooling surface contributes to optimal heat dissipation. The integrated power supply and rugged casing make this positioning aid particularly suitable for use in harsh environments.
The ZKV uses a rotating mirror to generate perfectly visible red or green circles on a corresponding work surface. The required diameter is set via a wired remote control using a joystick.
With e.g. an installation height of 1.000 mm you can project a circle with a diameter from 270 mm to 1.400 mm. The ZKV is mainly used for barrel construction or for producing wooden cable drums. It does away with the need for templates.
This small dot laser (with a diameter of just Ø 11 mm) is ideal for any positioning task, as it can be focused at site for any distance. The wavelength of 635 nm (red) is perfectly visible on most materials.
It is often used in the wood, stone, textile, metal, tire, concrete and food industries
The world’s unique positioning laser with Peltier cooling
The ZPT-F with it’s integrated heavy duty power supply is one of our long time and well known laser series. It is the only laser of its kind with a temperature-stabilized laser source. Due to the integrated focusing option the line projection can be adjusted at site for minimum line width and therefore also for best visibility...
With its design, it is a high-quality and service-friendly precision device.

Lasers for the automotive industry
In the production of commercial vehicles and passenger cars, our laser projectors are used to position assembly elements such as fasteners, struts and electrical cabling. By projecting the target positions directly on the vehicle surface, fitters can place and install the component currently being processed more quickly. This also eliminates the need for time-consuming templates. The complex task of automatically checking assembly results (target/actual comparison) can also be solved using our lasers.
The use of Z-LASER laser projectors in the production of precast concrete elements redefines the standards for precision and efficiency. Our technologies enable the exact representation of mold and reinforcement elements directly on the work surface, ensuring fast and correct production.
Z-LASER optimizes production in the composites industry with highly developed laser projectors. Our solutions improve production speed and quality in areas such as boat and vehicle construction, aerospace and the manufacturing of wind turbine and helicopter rotor blades through precise 2D and 3D contour projections that enable fast and accurate positioning.
Compatible with all common 3D CAD programs, Z-LASER laser projectors facilitate the production of complex components and reduce errors, increasing efficiency and minimizing manual rework.
