      • The workhorse of planetary gear manufacture

        The RZ 60 gear grinder’s productivity sets the standard for high volume production of planetary pinions and remains the fastest machine on the market.

        Constant High Performance

        The RZ 60’s overriding design principle is the resolute reduction of unproductive times. This is based on its dual spindle technology, all axes movements and routines being uncompromisingly executed in parallel, the short reaction times of all spindles, and the high cutting speeds.

        The extremely rigid overall design leads to very high material removal rates and constant workpiece quality.

        All overtravel movements of the RZ 60 have been reduced and optimised to the absolute minimum. The electronic gearbox, which was fully developed by Reishauer, controls the perfect harmonisation of multiple NC axes and executes all routines in parallel such that idle times are almost completely eliminated.

        Two meshing sensors synchronise the gear parts to the threaded wheel during the rotation of the workspindle turret. Furthermore, sufficient time remains during the rotation of the turret to centrifuge off oil from the ground parts, even at cycle times shorter than 10 seconds. Additionally, the threaded wheels’ chosen extra width and the multi-rip full profile rolls reduce non-productive dressing times to a minimum.

        Short set-up times highlight the flexibility of the machine. Apart from disk-type workpieces, this machine equally handles shaft-type workpieces. Due to its compact design, and the fact that it comes fully equipped, it can be easily integrated into existing production lines.

      • The Automotive Gear Grinding Machine

        The machine that can handle all the gears that are used in automotive transmissions. 

        The RZ 160 gear grinder’s productivity sets the industrial standard for the production of automotive gears. Its working range diameter of up to 160 mm and its module range of 0.5 to 4 covers all gears, disk-type or shaft-type parts that are used in automotive transmissions.

        Productivity and Flexibility

        Apart from its main field of application – high volume production of automotive gears – this machine is also suitable for flexible usage such as a single prototype gear or small lot size production, for example. This is exemplified by the design features of an additional grinding head for profile grinding, line dressing or the option of „onboard gear measuring”.

          The Reishauer Tool Division develops, produces and markets highly specialized diamond and CBN tools in electroplated bond for dressing, grinding, in addition to other special applications. High quality, in terms of precision tool life and wear resistance, is based on many years of experience and a great willingness to innovate.

          For Dressing of Cylindrical Grinding Wheels

          Reishauer strives for the best technical and cost effective solution in each Application. This also applies to our dressing discs and dressing rolls. The different tasks required for the manufacture of small, medium or large lot size, as well as specific demand regarding geometry and flexibility, determine the tool profile for each application. In combination with the corresponding dressing process, virtually all demands are met in the dressing of grinding wheels for the continuous generating grinding of involute and non-involute gear teeth. Reishauer’s engineering competence and manufacturing know how guarantee optimum process reliability.

        • Grinding Wheels

        • In line with its performance portfolio – the Circle of Competence – Reishauer not only builds its gear grinding machines but also manufactures its proper grinding wheels, called threaded wheels, in its own factory in Central Switzerland.

          Within the gear grinding process, the grinding machine supplies the kinematics, i.e. the precise movements that control the threaded wheel. For its part, the threaded wheel must transfer these movements onto the workpiece by grinding it accurately to a defined size and a predetermined surface quality.

          A threaded wheel consists of three elements, all of which have to fulfil a specific purpose. These elements are: the abrasive grits, the bond and the pores. In short, the abrasive grits’ task is to perform the cutting of hardened steel to size and to a specified surface finish, all without generating any grinding burns.  The bond, the second element, holds the grits in place and must ensure the safety of the grinding process at high operating speeds. The pores, as the third element, give the grinding wheel an open structure to ensure that the coolant gets into the contact area during grinding, and that the chips generated during the process can be transported away from the grinding zone.

          Reishauer threaded wheels have designed specifically for the process of continuous generating grinding. Each and every threaded wheel is subjected to a rigorous quality checking procedure and marked with an indelible laser induced “birthmark” that ensures permanent product traceability.

          Reishauer builds on its own comprehensive knowledge of the gear grinding process and on this basis, develops and manufactures customer specific clamping devices. The connection « machine – clamping device – grinding wheel – dresser » - makes possible a grinding process that is optimally fine-tuned to specific quality.                     

          The specific use of base chucks for workpiece specific hydraulic arbours reduces the set-up time and increases productivity. This translates into the full use of the high economic potential of the Reishauer machine, whether for large or small scale production volumes.
