GEMÜ: Two new diaphragms for demanding chemical applications

With the GEMÜ Code 71 and Code 5T diaphragms, the valve specialist GEMÜ is launching two new sealing elements for diaphragm valves from its own development. Both are suitable for demanding processes in the chemical industry.

GEMÜ Code 71 three-layer PTFE/PVDF/EPDM diaphragm

The GEMÜ Code 71 three-layer diaphragm was specially developed for use with aggressive and volatile media. It consists of a PTFE shield, an intermediate layer of PVDF and an EPDM support back. With regard to the PTFE shield, the diaphragm relies on the proven design and dimensions of the well-known GEMÜ Code 5M diaphragm. For applications with industrial gases, the additional PVDF intermediate layer offers very good permeation properties. Due to the high-quality material selection, the diaphragm is resistant to aggressive chemicals such as volatile acids, oxidising agents and salts as well as moist chlorine, bromine and their derivatives.
The GEMÜ Code 71 diaphragm is available in diaphragm sizes 10 to 100 and is used in PFA-lined valve bodies from the GEMÜ product range.

GEMÜ Code 5T two-layer PTFE/FKM diaphragm

The GEMÜ Code 5T diaphragm is a two-piece diaphragm consisting of a PTFE shield and an FKM back. The PTFE used is a chemically modified PTFE of the second generation, the so-called TFM™. The diaphragm was developed for use in industrial applications, for example in chemical and environmental technology or the processing industry.
The GEMÜ Code 5T diaphragm is available in diaphragm sizes 10 to 100 and has a sintered threaded pin with integrated screw-in stop.
