A unique selling point in the US biogas and RNG market: Since 2012, EnviTec Biogas AG has impressed customers with high-quality pre-stressed, post-tensioned concrete tanks for biogas plant construction. This success is due to long-term cooperation with local partners like Collins Precast in the US. “Collins Precast is a leading manufacturer of precast concrete structures and buildings in the upper Midwest,” says Timothy Logan, President of EnviTec Construction, LLC. This partnership enables EnviTec to produce 50 precast concrete elements per week, equivalent to one anaerobic digestion tank with a net volume of approximately 8,100 cubic meters.

“Our design requires minimal site preparation, ensures maximum quality and enables each tank to be erected in three days”, states Logan. Tanks can be easily scaled from 5,000 to 10,000 cubic meters. In addition, the pre-stressing allows for large service opening doors to be cast in place, proving an excellent solution for tank cleaning and maintenance. “Most importantly, EnviTec can provide a solution to satisfy the Domestic Content provisions of the IRA and stands ready to support clients looking to start physical work offsite to ensure the expiring ITC by the end of 2024”, says Logan.

Cooperation is a win-win situation for company, customers and environment

Active in the US market since 2010, EnviTec US has already installed 22 AD Tanks. “We have an additional 13 tanks to install at five different sites in Minnesota, Indiana and New York. In total we are contracted to produce 1,550 concrete elements”, adds Stefan Dehne, General Manager of EnviTec Biogas Construction LLC. The cooperation between EnviTec and Collins is a win-win situation for the company, customers, and the environment alike: “Working together on a local level allows us to shorten transport routes, save time and money, reduce carbon emissions, and support the local job market”, Logan emphasizes.

While Collins Precast is responsible for ensuring the right concrete quality, production capacity, storage facilities, and transport to the construction site, EnviTec is responsible for tank design and construction. “An experienced and, above all, certified provider in the market, we are fortunate to have Collins Precast at our side”, Logan continues.

Collins Precast is PCI-certified, which covers the entire process of manufacturing and assembling precast and prestressed concrete parts. The company thereby satisfies the high-quality standards of EnviTec Biogas, which is currently Germany’s largest biogas producer and innovator in the biogas market. This approach illustrates EnviTec’s unique value proposition of providing biogas plant components from one hand with an integrated plant design including from upfront input pre-processing via biogas upgrading process through sale gas compression. “Our clients have realized shortened fabrication and construction schedules owed to the EnviTec standardized tank design which has made this tank solution a real game changer in the US”, notes Dehne.
