With a back-illuminated image sensor, the pco.edge 10 bi LT provides quantum efficiency up to 85% with broad spectrum extending to NIR. The sensor incorporates microlenses and full-depth deep-trench isolation for crosstalk suppression resulting in an excellent MTF. Furthermore, the camera provides a large image circle by using a high-resolution 10.46 MPixel image sensor with a square pixel size of 4.6 μm.

Thermal stabilization and active cooling techniques are employed to achieve an exceptionally low dark current and a readout noise of 1.3 electrons (@ 120 fps) in the image sensor. Furthermore, the sensor technology effectively reduces both the noise peak and tail in the noise distribution histogram, resulting in noise behavior comparable to that of CCD sensors. Additionally, the sensor’s high full well capacity contributes to an impressive dynamic range of 15,385:1. With the capability to capture high frame rates of up to 120 fps and facilitate transmission via a CLHS fiber-optic link, this camera delivers outstanding performance.
