  • BAZEFIELD WIND

  • The BazeField® system is the most powerful, flexible and scalable wind farm management system in the market. The system is in use by a range of clients such as: Scira Offshore, Arise, OX2, Skellefteå Kraft/Blaiken Vind, Puhuri, Etha, Natural Power, 3E, Outsmart, Arctic Wind and Statoil amongst others. BazeField is used for O&M support, closing in on 4 GW of installed wind power capacity on a daily basis.
    BazeField® Wind Farm Management System includes turn-key interfaces such as: turbine SCADA, grid, met, forecasts, trading systems etc. It also includes a suite of monitoring, analysis and operations management applications, KPI's measurements and reports needed for support in O&M of wind farms. Using the BazeField system will assist you in achieving:

      • Depending on your business model, the BazeField® software can be purchased for installation in your existing hardware and network infrastructure, or as a Software as a Service (SaaS, hosted solution). BazeField is module based and offered in several levels, depending on your needs and ambitions for follow up or improving operations and maintenance.
        • Monitoring contains the functionality to monitor and control a wind farm portfolio. It also includes tools for setting up dashboards and workspaces, trending, production and availability calculations and other key performance indicators, reporting, other data visualization, calculations and data validation.
        • Analysis functionality contains modules for availability analysis, turbine stop-, alarm- and loss, power curve analysis, and weather analysis among others.
        • Operations Management contains advanced key performance indicators, modules for operation and performance management, task and event management, reports, production and availability planning including forecasting and production balance nomination.
        • Expert functionality contains modules for data extraction, data scanning, programing of additional modules using the system Application Programing Interface (API), and configurations mostly designed for OEM partners and researchers to do customizations.
          • Monitoring

          • The Monitoring application of BazeField® Wind Farm Monitoring system contains the basic functionality to monitor and control a wind farm portfolio. BazeField includes tools for setting up dashboards and workspaces, trending, production and availability calculations and other key performance indicators. Monitoring can also do reporting, other data visualizations, calculations and data validation.

            • Portfolio monitoring - Overview and monitoring of all wind farms in a portfolio view by using dashboards and visualizations.
            • Wind farm monitoring - Uniform wind farm monitoring by using one or several dashboards and visualizations.

          • Analysis

          • Analysis functionality contains modules for availability analysis turbine stops and alarm analysis, loss. It use of the international IEC 61400-25/26 standard in categorization and time- and production based availability measures, makes it possible to do cross-parks and cross turbine type analysis and benchmarking. The analysis package also includes a powerful Power Curve analyser and weather measurement and forecast analysis tools.

            Included applications:
            • Availability Analyser - New strong application that replace previous Stop, Loss and Alarm Analyser. All about technical-, contractual- or other availabilities, categorizations and losses, event management, alarm drill-down and grouping. More or less everything about availability analysis is possible in this user-friendly application. The total availability management and reporting is also done by this application.
            • Power Curve Analyzer -New unique powerful application for all about performance analyses of wind turbines. Compare between turbines, compare different periods, wind sector filter, curve fitting, data filtering, wind rose and more.
            • Trend analysis -Trending application of real-time data, display historical data
            • Weather Analyzer - Comparison of forecast data and actual data
          • Operations Management

          • Cost for operations and maintenance can exceed 30% of total cost over a typical 20 year life time of a wind park. To increase the profitability of your wind farms, more efficient operations is a key element, targeting a higher degree of planned and predictive maintenance, more low wind maintenance, and continues improvement work on reducing losses. The Operations Management modules are a powerful set of tools to support LEAN way of working with wind farm operations, inducing performance indicators, production planning and performance management dashboards and meeting- and task management.

            • Enhanced KPI set - The module includes an enhanced set of Key Performance Indicators to fully measure performance on owner/management level.
            • Operational Performance Management Meeting workspaces that visualizes information for LEAN work processes including actions and task management for operational follow up and measure

            • Production forecasting- With unique control over operating assets through the availability planning, quality in weather forecasting (external source), and learned power curves for power calculations, the production forecast of BazeField has proven its accuracy.
          • Partner & Expert

          • The applications for Partner & Expert are designed for OEM partners and researchers to do advanced data extraction, programing of additional modules using the system Application Programing Interface (API), run Matlab scripts and more. The Partner & Expert application are focusing on two types of users:
            • Partners (or clients) that further extend the BazeField system with their own applications, advanced reporting, system integration inside or outside the BazeField framework.
            • Researchers that has extended to make use of big data management and analysis.

            Included applications:
            • DataScanner - Application for big data that is set up to look for datasets based on a pre-defined set of conditions.
            • DataExtraction - Application for Big Data used for ad-hoc or scheduled data export. For example creation of csv files, excel or Matlab files for further analyses.
            • Web Service API - Application programing Interface (API) typically used for integrations and third part application development.
            • .net API - Application programing Interface (API) typically used for integrations and for third part application development.

            Note that the use of Partner & Expert applications requires certified consultants/developers including additional training beyond the offered user and super user training.

Our portfolio of installed capacity has reached nearly 4GW and contains monitoring of more than 80 wind farms in 8 different countries.
            • Arise

            • Leading Swedish wind power owner and operator Arise use BazeField for O&M of their wind farms. The growing Arise portfolio includes by now 15 farms and a total of 380 MW installed capacity.
            • Natural Power

            • Large scale renewable consultants and partner, UK based Natural Power, serves a range of clients with O&M services using BazeField. Natural Power use the system for a fast growing portfolio of wind farms with several hundred MW installed capacity.
            • Parkwind/3E

            • Belgian wind experts and partner 3E serve the BazeField system for asset manager Parkwind among other clients. Parkwind operates Belwind I offshore wind farm of 165 MW and will over the next years increase their portfolio with Belwind II and Northwind wind farms, reaching 550 MW installed capacity.
            • Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm

            • The UK offshore wind farm Sheringham Shoal Offshore owned by Scira Offshore Energy is one of the world largest offshore wind farms with 88 turbines and 317 MW installed capacity. BazeField is used in their daily O&M operations.
            • Outsmart

            • Professionals in wind, Dutch partner Outsmart, serve BazeField for operations services for many clients. Outsmart use the system for a fast growing on- and offshore portfolio of wind farms reaching 500 MW installed capacity within 2015.
            • OX2

            • Swedish based large scale wind developer and operator OX2 has awarded Baze Technology a contract for delivery of our BazeField® wind Farm Management system. BazeField will be put in operation for 23 wind farms with more than 200 turbines and 500 MW before the end of 2014. New projects will be added to the portfolio within the next years.

                BazeField Information Management System consists of a number of services and modules that provide functionality for data capture, data storage, presentation and data analysis.

                In its core is a service called Baze Data Engine, whose main objectives are to connect to various data sources, log data into a real-time database/historian and to distribute the data to all other modules and services that requests them.
                  • Trending

                  • BazeField® includes a powerful, flexible and user-friendly component for real-time data trending and analysis of historical data.

                    It provides users with a fast and easy tool for displaying their data in a customizable graph. The user interface includes an intuitive way of switching between real-time and history mode, scrolling back and forth in history, zooming and tracking points in the graph and viewing alarms. It also provides information about name, value, unit, quality, and description for each tag.

                    The tool is available to all users that can access a tag or graph, simply by clicking the tag in the portal. All users may also save their own graphs, which they can also share with other users.
                  • Graphical visualization

                  • BazeField® includes an easy to configure web based graphical visualization tool. It provides functionality that makes it possible to configure web pages that combines real-time and historical data that gives the end-user both a quick overview, and drill-down functionality in one module.

                    Displayed data may be process values from the control systems, but also calculated values, such as performance figures and KPIs.
                    The graphical display in BazeField is a web page that displays real time state of process parameters calculations etc., either through standard or custom built visualization objects (numeric controls, trends, traffic lights, gauges etc.). Custom built visualization objects are easy to create.

                    The process of creating new graphical displays requires no software programming skills and consists of five steps:
                    • Create a background image that contain all static information
                    • Create a list of tag names and display objects for all tags that will be displayed
                    • Create the display with display management tool in BazeField
                    • Open display in dashboard editor. Drag and drop object to their correct position
                    • Publish display to portal
                  • Reporting

                  • BazeField® includes an easy to configure web report tool, which ensures easy and rapid configuration of web based reports.

                    The reporting tool presents tabular content or graphs. The values are mainly read from tags stored in the historian, but might also be data stored in the SQL database. The values from the historian might be data logged from a data source, or they might be calculated values in BazeField.
                    The reports are configured in Excel and installed in the BazeField® portal through a report management tool in the portal. The process of creating a new report consists of three steps:
                    • Configure report in Excel
                    • Import Excel work sheet with report management tool in BazeField
                    • View report in BazeField Portal
                  • Integrations

                  • BazeField is an open system, where the use of standards and flexibility in system interfacing are among the strengths.

                    OPC DA/XI/UA is the de-facto standard for real-time and process data communication between SAS/DSC/SCADA systems and information systems and the standard interfacing technology of BazeField. Baze Technology has vast experience in interfacing OPC servers from a number of OPC server suppliers, like ABB, Siemens, Kongsberg, DeltaV, Honeywell, Matrikon, Vestas, Nordex, GE and others.
                    If applicable, BazeField also offers a set of external API's based on .NET, Web Services and the SOAP protocol for reading and writing information. This makes integration of non-OPC easy and inexpensive, and makes transaction based communication independent of the platform of the integrating system.

                    Baze Technology has extensive experience in integrating different standards, protocols, formats and different 3rd party solutions. Different 3rd party systems that Baze Technology has integration knowledge of include in addition to process control systems, ERP systems, document management software and maintenance systems. The most common protocols of these integrations are different text-files, xml-files, PRODML, WITSML, serial, Modbus and others.

                    All integrations are handled by the Baze Integration Service, which provide a framework for integration that makes it possible to integrate non-standard systems writing just a small number of code lines.

                    BazeField can also offer both built-in OPC buffering and OPC tunnelling. This enhances data integrity, increases network security, and simplifies OPC integration across firewalls.

                    To provide data to other systems, BazeField can also be delivered with an OPC DA server for real-time data and an OPC HDA server for historical data. It is also possible to retrieve data programmatically through a well document set of API's.
                  • Calculations

                  • BazeField includes a set of calculation services that can be used for a number of reasons, among others:
                    • KPI calculation
                    • Continuous and automated data analysis
                    • Unit conversion
                    • Aggregation of momentary values
                    • Scaling
                    • Etc

                    The calculations are categorized as three different types of calculations, which are handled by three different services:
                    • Online calculations - calculations that are calculated continuously triggered on changes in one or more of the tags included in the calculation
                    • Interval calculations - calculations that are scheduled to run with a specified frequency, which do calculation on historical data over a time period
                    • Aggregations - calculations that are scheduled to run with a specified frequency, which do simple accumulative operations to provide daily, weekly, monthly and yearly values.

                    For online and interval calculations there is a large set of functions to provide possibility for complex calculations. This includes:
                    • Arithmetic operators
                    • Boolean operators
                    • Trigonometric functions (sin, cos, tan, etc)
                    • Statistical functions (average, standard deviation, max, min, etc)
                    • Logarithmic functions
                    • Etc.
                • Operations Management

                • BazeField® is designed and used for gathering information, provide tools for monitoring, analysis and planning, and feed this into the decision makers in a role based organization, needed to be able to make high quality and safe operational decisions and actions at the right arenas. BazeField® Operations Management is a set of modules for structuring and standardizing company-wide decision making. It consists of applications and modules that provide a set of tools to document, follow up and structure all decisions in alignment with the company's best-practice work and decision processes. The decisions are anchored in sorted and analysed real-time data, which through BazeField is presented for the right roles and in a user interface that is configured to a cover the needs of a specific work process or meeting.

                    • Work Spaces

                    • Baze Workspace is a module that makes it possible to configure custom made applications that supports the work form of your company. This may be production reporting, KPI views, asset or well workspaces, meeting workspaces or other custom built applications.

                      In all offshore operations, the key to success lies in making the right decisions and being sure that the corresponding tasks are being carried out. Daily reporting, handovers and scheduled meetings are arenas in which decisions are made, but also deviations and unexpected events may call for fast decisions and tasks. Baze Workspace is an extremely flexible and versatile tool for user friendly and efficient decision and task tracking.

                      A workspace in BazeField is a web page that displays any real-time or historical data as trends, tables, numeric controls, trends, traffic lights, gauges etc. or third party web part components, and combines this with tools to document your decisions. All in one user interface. A workspace may be for a scheduled work process (e.g. daily operations meeting, weekly HSEQ meeting or generation of daily production report). The workspace is implemented with a predefined set of sub processes or agenda, which will guide the user or meeting participants through the work process. For each sub process or agenda point, the workspace presents relevant data for the user/participants to make the correct decisions. The decisions are then documented in a task list, minutes of meeting or other input applications, all in one screen, without having to switch from one window to another.
                    • Loss Analyzer

                    • It is the losses that reduce your income. Loss Analyzer (also known as shutdown-, downtime or deviation log) is a fact based tool that helps you to find the causes of undesired downtime.
                      The Loss Analyzer provides functionality that through categorization and statistics can help you to identify equipment that causes bottlenecks and downtime in your system.

                      When having information on equipment with repeating problems, MTBF (Mean time Between Failure) or MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) parameters and more, you will be able to change your maintenance strategies and do more planned and preventive maintenance that will increase availability significantly.

                      All losses are categorized by division/area and selectable levels of further categorization if possible and appropriate. Losses are by default registered manually, but it is also possible to automatically generate them through connection to tag and logic functions.
                  • Integrated Operations

                  • In order to get benefits from reduced manning, improved performance and general cost savings through integrated operations, the offshore and onshore users, roles and systems involved, need to have access to the same data. In a low bandwidth infrastructure, BazeField ® solves this by adding its integrated operations services.

                    BazeField® is extremely flexible in terms of its system topology. The main factor to consider is the bandwidth available. When bandwidth is limited, as for instance on a VSAT link, BazeField is installed with both offshore and onshore servers. The BazeField servers are set up to be automatically synchronized without any user interaction. All users will access the local installation, having access to all data real-time and experiencing the same good response times, without having to access any data across the limited bandwidth connection.
                          • Data synchronization

                          • BazeField® supports synchronization of all relevant data to support integrated operations in a low bandwidth environment. The following services are available for integrated operations:
                            Real-time process data synchronization. Synchronizes OPC and process data without any DCOM problems and with robustness through built in state-of-the-art buffer mechanisms.
                            File synchronization. Synchronizes all necessary files in the system using the BITS protocol for bandwidth optimizations. May also be used for 3rd party system synchronization.
                            Database synchronization. Synchronizes all relational database updates.

                            Synchronization with BazeField ® is designed to handle traffic control for all data. This includes OPC/ process data, email, relational data, documents, collaboration sessions etc. When this data is handled by the solution, rules for prioritization and traffic control are applied.

                            Whenever communications are put to strain due to technical issues or peaks in data transfer, all data are automatically tested for priorities and data are buffered if priority is not given. Whenever bandwidth is available again, buffered data is automatically synchronized.

                            In case of complete loss of communications, both offshore and onshore users will have full applications running, however without the latest data available. Once communication is back, full synchronization is automatically initiated for the buffered data.
                      • BazeLab LIMS

                      • BazeLab LIMS ensures efficient laboratory management and automation by focusing on the laboratory specific work processes. BazeLab is a modern and flexible LIMS system, and its ground breaking user interface offers the users an intuitive and efficient tool in their daily work.

                        Based on nearly two decades of development of industrial solutions, Baze Technology is proud to present a complete system for laboratory management and laboratory automation (LIMS). The solution is based on the former Imatis LIMS, and has been developed in close cooperation with key customers within different industries over the last ten years. BazeLab is a state of the art, web based LIMS system for laboratories of any scale. BazeLab LIMS will provide virtually any laboratory with a powerful tool for efficient product quality control, research and commercial laboratory operations.

                        The BazeLab LIMS system offers all the traditional functions that are required from a laboratory management system. However, the system has taken the full step to being a vital tool for improved decisions making and collaboration as well. A great effort has been put in providing a highly user friendly and appealing interface in order to make BazeLab a preferred system in any organization.
