  • Inductive Telemetry

  • Our modular product program of sensor signal amplifiers and antenna systems can be optimally integrated into the existing measuring environment. Even under extremely confined conditions, we are able to realise non-contact signal transmission solutions for mobile or long-term applications. We can produce for shaft diameters from 1 to 4,000 millimetres.

    With our system the measuring signal is transmitted by means of induction. In the standard model the transmission path is composed of two solid wire loops (stator and rotor, each one winding). The loops can also be constructed as separable solid rings. In addition to the standard model, the stator ring can also be supplied in the form of a compact antenna. In a special model, the rotor ring is integrated as a compact element in the sensor signal amplifier. The distance between the receiving antennas and the evaluation unit can be up to 200 m. As standard, a simple coaxial cable can be used as connection cable.
      • 1-Channel Systems

      • MANNER Sensortelemetrie has been developed with a focus on praxis-oriented applications and is therefore especially simple to operate. Using a non-contact induction procedure, the non-contact capture of amplified measuring signals from moving objects, especially shafts, is possible. During this procedure, a stator antenna captures the measured data from an antenna on the rotating component under measurement, without the need for any physical contact. Consequently, unbiased measuring results can be guaranteed. In the opposite direction, the measuring electronics on the moving component are supplied with energy via inductive coupling.

        Thanks to the use of highly integrated microelectronics and the especially short set-up times due to simple and sophisticated mounting technology, these measuring systems are predestined for professional industrial applications. The systems have a thermal operating range of -55° to 180° Celsius. Their robust construction is suitable for extreme environmental conditions, such as use in oil or with accelerations of up to 100,000 g.

      • Multi-Channel Systems

      • The multi-channel sensor telemetry system from MANNER is a consistent development of the single-channel sensor telemetry product program. Here too the non-contact transmission procedure is used to couple the stationary components (stator antenna and evaluation unit) to the rotating, i.e. moving measuring object (including sensor and sensor signal amplifier).

        The deployment of our multi-channel systems enables you to carry out the non-contact simultaneous transmission of all measuring signals from a series of measuring points. Energy is also supplied simultaneously to all channels. The systems have a thermal operating range of -55° to 180° Celsius. Their robust construction is suitable for extreme environmental conditions, such as use in oil or with accelerations of up to 100,000 g.

        Depending on the type and dimensions of the application, we can capture data from up to 400 channels with just one single measuring system.       • Sensor Signal Amplifier

      • The MANNER sensor signal amplifier captures the measuring signal from the rotating sensors. In addition to DMS sensors, other sensors such as thermocouple elements, PT 100, Hall, piezo and Micro-Epsilon sensors and potentiometers can be connected. The evaluation unit supplies a high frequency signal from which the energy for the sensor signal amplifier is generated. This in turn generates the power supply for the connected sensor. The bridge supply voltage generated is short-circuit proof and highly stabile. An integrated voltage monitor guarantees fault-free operation.

        In addition, the function of a DMS bridge and the entire measuring chain can be checked via the optional remote shunt calibration function. During commissioning and maintenance, it is thus possible to check the calibration of the entire system with an off-load measuring chain.

        The setting of the zero point and the measuring sensitivity of the sensor signal amplifier is either fixed using resistors soldered into place, or programmed from a computer using the RMC technology.
      • RMC Technology

      • With the deployment of our RMC technology (remote control), we equip the measuring electronics (rotor electronics) with a micro-controller that controls and monitors the digital transmission of the measured data and control code between the evaluation unit and the sensor signal amplifier. An interface enables the simple connection between a computer or a higher order computer system. The measuring system can now be completely controlled via the specially developed software from MANNER. The measuring range and zero point (auto zero) can thus be continuously adjusted and corrected via computer. The program interface from Manner also provides a graphic view of the measured data sequences.

        As a result, rotating measurement points can be freely programmed via inductive coupling. With the assistance of MANNER telemetry software the measuring equipment controller can now be adjusted without any physical contact.

        • Torque Measuring Flanges

        • Torque measuring flanges from MANNER can be employed for the measurement of both static and dynamic torques on rotating or stationary shafts and machine flanges. Using the torque and rotation speed parameters, the power flow along a shaft can be directly calculated. In the age of automation and the demand for ever better efficiency, these two parameters are becoming increasingly important.

          MANNER Sensortelemetrie GmbH has developed special compact torque flanges for the fulfilment of these tasks. All Manner torque measuring systems feature non-contact torque signal transmission according to the patented sensor telemetry procedure. They operate without the need for bearings and therefore can be mounted without the need for an additional bearing bracket or articulated shafts. This avoids costs and allows for extremely compact test stands.

        • High Speed Torque Measurement

        • MANNER Sensortelemetrie GmbH provides systems specially designed to meet the demands of high speed measurements. Specially manufactured products with high rotation speed and acceleration resistances ensure that you can also reap the benefits of MANNER sensor telemetry in the turbo charger field. This enables precise sensor signals to be captured with speeds of up to 200,000 revolutions per minute and transmitted using non-contact inductive coupling.

          • Product Description

          • MANNER radio telemetry was designed for working in extremely difficult measuring environments (degree of protection IP 65). In addition to the radio cell, the system consists of a miniaturised sensor signal amplifier. This is directly connected to the DMS bridges, thermocouple elements and/or PT100 sensors. The sensor signals are amplified, passed through an antialiasing filter and digitised.

            The signal resolution can be either 12 or 16 bit (option). The digital data is coded and secured using a special check sum code (CRC). This code guarantees completely interference free data transmission even under difficult conditions. The data is subsequently impressed onto the RF carrier using modulation. The radio system enables wireless transmission up to a range of 50 m in an unobstructed environment.

            MANNER supplies radio systems in single or multi-channel versions (up to 32 channels). Each channel is equipped with its own power supply as well as separate settings for amplification and digital conversion. Thanks to digitisation there is no crosstalk between the channels. Even in the event of a sensor short circuiting the remaining measuring channels remain unaffected.

            Amplification and zero point (autozero) can be continuously programmed via a PC. Strong batteries or long life accumulators in the radio transmitter enable uninterrupted operation.
          • Inductive Charger Cap

          • With MANNER’s specially designed charger cap, accumulators in radio telemetry systems (e.g. in automobile wheel transmitters) can be quickly and simply charged without having to open the electronics casing.

            The cap can be either powered by the vehicle power supply (12V) or a mains adapter. A charger circuit controls the accumulator charge, preventing overloading by automatically switching off at full capacity (ideal for overnight use).

            Simply place the plastic housing on the sensor electronics in order to recharge the long life accumulators via induction.
          • Antenna Diversity

          • MANNER Sensortelemetrie GmbH also supplies optional radio sensor telemetry systems with antenna diversity. With these systems transmission and data reliability are significantly improved through the positioning of two receiving antennas.

            The deployment of two receiving antennas is particularly expedient when there is no constant line of sight between the transmitting and receiving antennas (e.g. with rotating shafts). Radio interference as a result of reflection from closely situated metal elements (e.g. in a ship) can also be compensated for using this technology.

            At any given time, a specially developed diversity combiner selects an interference-free receiver signal. This prevents data loss as a result of shadowing or interference.
        • Ex-Systems (ATEX)

              • MANNER Sensortelemetrie offers measuring systems with ATEX aproval for contact-free measurement inside of explosive atmosphere (gases and dusts).

                The evaluation is situated outside of the area exposed to explosion hazards and is connected with the PickUp stator antenna by a heat-resistant coaxial cable.
                The stator antenna is situated inside of the explosive atmosphere.

                The sensor signal amplifier and the passive sensors on the rotating parts are supplied by the stator antenna. In return the measuring data are relayed to the evaluation unit. An installion inside of the Ex area is possible on a Standard Measuring Flange from MANNER as well as on a customer provided shaft, flange, and so on.

                            • High flight speeds and low landing speeds demand highly effective landing flaps. These require enormous actuating forces. The landing flaps as secondary flight controllers are driven either electromechanically, hydraulically, hydromechanically, pneumatically or manually.

                              The high torque transmission from the drive motors to the actuators counteracts the forces which act on the landing flaps. This enables the flaps to be positioned in a predefined angle relative to the wing.

                            • The rotation of a two or three bladed main rotor supplies a helicopter’s lift, forward propulsion and steering. It is generally driven by a motive power unit (motor) via reduction gearing.

                              The rotors must withstand dynamic forces which are continuously changing in strength and direction of attack. In order to successfully measure the continually changing stresses and strains, rotor telemetry technology from Manner is employed worldwide.
