  • Power Optimizers

  • A superior approach to maximizing the throughput of PV systems using module embedded electronics.

    The SolarEdge power optimizers maximize energy throughput from each and every module through constant tracking of Maximum Power Point individually per module. Further, the power optimizers automatically maintain a fixed string voltage, allowing optimal efficiency of the SolarEdge inverter and giving installers greater flexibility to design optimal PV systems. The power optimizers also monitor the performance of each module and communicate performance data to the SolarEdge monitoring portal. Each power optimizers is equipped with the unique SafeDC™ feature which automatically shut down modules' voltage whenever inverter or grid power are shut down.

  • PV Inverters

  • The SolarEdge solar inverter is a highly reliable DC-AC PV inverter. Because MPPT and voltage management are handled separately for each module by the power optimizers, the solar inverter is only responsible for DC to AC inversion. Consequently, it is a less complicated, more reliable solar PV inverter. The fixed string voltage ensures operation at the highest efficiency at all times (>98% weighted efficiency), independently of string length and temperature.

    The SolarEdge PV inverter combines a sophisticated, digital control technology and a one stage, efficient power conversion architecture to achieve superior solar power harvesting and best-in-class reliability.     • Monitoring Combiner Box

    • The SolarEdge Smart Monitoring Combiner Box allows you to enjoy a high level of system performance monitoring and exceptional system safety.

      The box can be provided with GFDI (Ground-Fault Detector & Interrupter) which detects string leakage and isolates the faulty string, ensuring other strings are not affected, and immediately provides on-site and web indication as well as email fault notification. Additionally the detection and isolation components are continuously monitored and an alert is sent in case of a fault, promising an uninterrupted detection system.

    • Module-Level PV Monitoring

    • SolarEdge Module Monitoring solution is a web-based application that provides PV performance monitoring, fault detection and troubleshooting at module-level, string-level and system-level. No hardware or wiring is required: the monitoring sensors and transmitters are built in the SolarEdge power optimizer and solar inverter, and measurement data is transmitted over the regular power lines.

  • Installer Software Tools

  • A set of software tools complements the Solaredge product offering. These tools make the SolarEdge PV system design and installation even easier and quicker and allow real-time, on the spot verification of correct installation and system performance.
    • Site Designer

    • The SolarEdge Site Designer assists in designing the optimal SolarEdge installation for a given installation size. The tool recommends the number of strings and each string’s length as well as PV inverter and power optimizer selections, based on site size and PV module selection.

      In addition to automatic design recommendation, the tool enables easy verification of any custom design and supports unequal string length layouts. Multi-orientation installations will be supported in a future version.
    • Inverter Configuration Tool

    • The Inverter Configuration Tool allows configuration of the SolarEdge solar inverter without removing its cover. In PV sites with multiple inverters that are connected to each other via RS485 or wirelessly, all inverters can be configured from a single “master” inverter, using the Inverter Configuration Tool. The tool enables the setup of LAN, RS485 and wireless ZigBee communication.

      Furthermore, the tool provides real-time, on-site performance verification for each individual PV module, for faster site commissioning. It also creates detailed reports for effective remote support calls.
    • Site Mapper

    • The Site Mapper scans the barcodes of power optimizers and solar inverters to create a virtual map of your PV site, facilitating remote diagnostics through the SolarEdge Monitoring Portal.

      Following an easy sketching of the physical layout of a SolarEdge installation, the iPhone application uses the phone’s camera for scanning the barcodes. A matching between the physical layout and the logic layout (string assignment) is made, and the layout is then emailed to SolarEdge for presentation on the Monitoring Portal.

    • SolarEdge Safety & Monitoring Interface

    • The SolarEdge Safety & Monitoring Interface allows non-SolarEdge inverters to connect to SolarEdge power optimizers. This provides multiple advantages when adding SolarEdge power optimizers to existing installations and when designing new sites. The SolarEdge Safety & Monitoring Interface collects module performance data measured by each power optimizer, as well as solar PV inverter data, and interfaces with the SolarEdge server to allow module-level and system-wide monitoring.
    • GSM Modem

    • The GSM modem for wireless connectivity enables a wireless link between a master inverter and the SolarEdge Monitoring Portal using GSM cellular communication.

      GSM connectivity allows to effortlessly connect remote installations to the Monitoring Portal. In addition, it allows simplifying installations, making them more reliable – no outdoor cabling protection required, safe – no lightning protection required and aesthetic – no long cables and fixtures.
    • ZigBee Wireless Communication Products

    • The ZigBee products for wireless connectivity enable either wireless mesh network between multiple inverters at a site, or wireless link between a master inverter and a remote internet gateway point.
      Wireless connectivity allows simplifying installations, making them more reliable – no outdoor cabling protection required, safe – no lightning protection required and aesthetic – no long cables and fixtures.
