  • ETA specialises in the manufacture of biomass heating, meaning pellet and wood chip boilers. The most modern technologies are combined with naturally growing resources.

    ETA stands for efficiency

Technicians designate the efficiency of a heating system with the Greek letter η, pronounced "eta". ETA boilers stand for more heat with less fuel consumption, environmental soundness and sustainability.
Product Portfolio
  • PELLETS

      • ETA PelletsUnit 7, 11 and 15 kW

      • The pellet boiler forthe cosy warmsingle-family house

        All-in-one
The ETA PelletsUnit is the ideal pellet boiler for renovations or new builds of single-family homes and apartment buildings. An entire heating system is packed into a compact boiler.

A highly efficient pump, safety devices and more are already integrated. This reduces the space needed and the assembly costs! The PelletsUnit is not just small, but also flexible: even a second heating circuit can be connected!
      • ETA PelletsCompact 20 to 105 kW

      • Small boiler,oustanding performance

The ETA PelletsCompact needs little space and is the ideal pellet boiler for renovations or new builds of larger residential buildings and office spaces.

It is only about 130 cm high, about one meter long and not even 95 cm deep - but it heats large residential buildings or small company buildings.

        Can be set-up anywhere
The ETA PelletsCompact (only for 20- 32 kW) can be operated with external air , i.e. the combustion is supplied with oxygen from the outside. This means that the boiler can also be situated in heated buildings or in rooms with comfort ventilation. In fact, the ETA PelletsCompact looks so good that you can even set it up where it is visible!
      • ETA PE-K 110 to 220 kW

      • The powerfulpellet boiler forbusiness andresidential living
Ideal for new builds and renovations

The heating requirements in apartment buildings and industrial buildings are often very high, and so are the running costs for heating and hot water - especially if you still use fossil fuels. The conversion is worth it – especially when it's as easy as with ETA. Already during the development of the ETA PE-K pellets boiler, the quality company from Upper Austria had not just new builds in its sights, but particularly also renovations. In most cases, no large conversions are required for boiler replacements, and existing conditions can be used optimally. For example, a pellet store can be placed up to 20 metres away – for instance where the oil tank used to be.

        Serial quality
Larger heating requirements are also no problem for the ETA PE-K. So two, three or even more boilers can be set-up in parallel. This modular or cascade design was perfected by ETA, so that it's not only possible to easily put them into existing properties, but the effort as regards piping, buffer volume, pumps and assembly is also reduced to a minimum.

        Everything under control everywhere
The key component of the efficient heating system is the control system, into which even a solar heating system or a small local heating network can be integrated. With active monitoring of all functions and remote maintenance via GSM and internet, the boiler is well suited for contracting use. Safe operation through active control. Comprehensive measuring and reporting of the most varied of boiler data, such as the draught fan speed, power consumption of screw motors, air flap position, residual oxygen in flue gas, return riser, exhaust temperature or hot water temperature ensure safe operation.
    • LOGS

        • ETA log boiler 20 to 60 kW

        • Just the way I want it

Heating with wood is extremely economical, even if you don't own a forests of your own. It does not harm the climate, it strengthens the domestic economy and it is crisis-proof as wood is plentyfull in Europe.

          Affordable and convenient
ETA has the ideal solution for those who want to use extremely affordable wood fuel and still want to enjoy the full benefits of fully automated comfort. The ETA TWIN consists of two fully-fledged boilers that perfectly complement each other. The ETA SH log boiler can be ordered with a flange on which a fully automated pellet boiler can simply be connected – years later without converting the heating system or the chimney connection.

          Intelligent system
Both boilers of the ETA TWIN work together perfectly. It lets you know if the fuel runs out in the log boiler. If no fuel is added over a freely selectable time period, the pellet boiler automatically starts working – until you add fuel again to the log boiler. So your home stays warm even if you are not there for some time.

Just add wood, no matches needed
The log boiler works with half metre wooden logs, which are trimmed in a large fuel chamber. So normally, you only have to add fuel once a day - on very cold days no more than twice. The new wood burns with the embers from the last fire. If embers are no longer available, a bit of paper and a match is all it takes. The firing phase of the boiler starts automatically when the doors are closed.

          Technology for the highest efficiency
Different types of wood have different burn properties. A lambda probe detects the condition of the combustion material, the air supply is automatically adapted to the wood quality. The ETA log boiler therefore also gets the highest possible efficiency from mixed wood or wood briquettes.

Only a bit of ash remains
Especially high temperatures are needed to convert the remaining combustible residue into heat energy. Even the toughest wood tar burns in the patented hotzone under the grate combustion at 900 to 1,100 °C. Thanks to the good burn-out, the ETA SH only needs de-ashing every one to two weeks.
        • ETA SH-P 20 to 60 kW with TWIN 20 to 50 kW

        • Just the way I want it

Heating with logs is unbeatably affordable. It does not harm the climate, it strengthens the domestic economy and it is crisis-proof as wood is plentyfull in Europe. Heating with pellets is conveniently fully automatic. With the ETA Twin you can switch between both systems. The changeover from one combustion chamber to another is fully automatic.

A modern log boiler is highly effective. Normally, you only have to add fuel once a day, on very cold days maybe twice. But a log boiler can never run fully automatically.

          Two combustion chambers, one device
Automatically switching from one system to another is so easy because the TWIN consists of a fully-fledged wood gasifier and a fully-fledged pellet burner. Both devices are perfectly adapted to their respective combustion materials: a patented hotzone combustion chamber ensures a particularly thorough burn-out in the log boiler. And with the aid of a lambda probe the boiler automatically adapts the supply air to the current wood quality. This achieves the best possible heating output from any wood. The lambda probe detects the suitability of the combustion material in the pellet burner too. In both devices, efficient systems ensure problem-free cleaning and de-ashing. That's comfort and money saved!
      • WOOD CHIPS

          • ETA eHACK 20 bis 130 kW

          • ETA eHACK Wood Chip Boiler

Fully automatic, space-saving, extremely economical operation and especially environmentally-friendly: the eHack from ETA already fulfils the requirements and demands of tomorrow.

Apartment buildings, businesses, commercial buildings, agricultural companies and local heating networks: larger buildings can be heated more efficiently with wood chips. The ETA eHACK is the optimum heating boiler for this. It is available with heating outputs of 20 to 130 kW and can be operated with wood chips or wood pellets.

            A perfect system
Sophisticated systems are at work in the ETA eHACK: in combination with the ETA combustion regulation, the lambda probe provides for the highest efficiency, even with varying fuel qualities. This team guarantees that the right amount of oxygen is constantly supplied to the respective fuel. The single chamber rotary valve developed and patented by ETA is a guarantee for safe operation. It reliably prevents the fire from the combustion chamber from reaching the fuel store. Wood pieces that are too long are simply cut.

            Clean, economical, efficient
Even the process utilised by the ETA system to convey wood chips to the boiler is extremely economical, because the spur gears used for this purpose require much less power than conventional transport screws. However, to maintain ideal fuel consumption and thus low heating costs, the interior of the boiler, such as the combustion chamber and heat exchanger, must be regularly cleaned of dust and ash. The ETA de-ashing system functions fully automatically – and accomplishes much more than all other systems currently on the market: it even removes dust from the flue gas.

            Cleaning with voltage
The amount of dust by-product in the flue gas can vary greatly, depending on how dry the wood chips are and how much bark has been processed. In order to comply with ever stricter emission limits, having a precipitator is increasingly important. In principle, this works in such a way that the dust particles floating in the flue gas are energized and ionized, causing them to accumulate on the inner wall of the separator instead of escaping through the chimney. Until now, a separate device with its own de-ashing system was required. This is very cumbersome because it requires two ash bins to be emptied, among other things.

            Space-saving: integrated precipitator
The ETA eHack is the first unit to allow for the precipitator to be integrated. This is made possible by the completely novel ETA de-ashing system, in which the whole boiler, i.e. the combustion chamber, the heat exchanger and the precipitator are cleaned fully automatically with just one drive. Even large foreign bodies in the ash, such as nails or stones are no problem for the robust segmented rotating grate and the powerful transport screw. The extra-large ash box only needs to be emptied occasionally. And this too is very easy - even if the floor is uneven. This is thanks to a special guide plate on the box for a hand cart.

Heating control by touchscreen, mobile and PC
Located directly on the boiler is a 7-inch touchscreen that allows for intuitive control of all components of the heating system, such as the buffer storage tank and solar collectors. And the heating system can be easily controlled for free via the internet through the www.meinETA.at platform! The only requirement is an internet-capable LAN outlet in the boiler room.
          • ETA HACK 200 kW

          • ETA wood chip boiler

In times of rising raw material costs, it is a real challenge to heat larger properties – not, however, if you rely on a crisis-proof and domestic fuel, such as wood chips.
Wood chips are produced from wood that is otherwise difficult to reuse, such as thinning materials, splinters of wood after storm damage and sawing residue from domestic wood processing plants. It is chopped in powerful chippers and according to predefined standards. The size of wood chips is standardised. Sizes from P16S - P31S are suitable for our systems. And the new ETA touch controller allows the heating to be especially easily controlled. Even from a distance!

A system that can handle coarse chips too
Every ETA wood chip conveyor system is well thought out, tried, tested and designed for the toughest use: the transport of coarse, uneven wood chips. So that pieces of wood of up to 12 cm can be transported, all parts must work together perfectly. That starts already in the bunker. The wood chips reach the screw via generously designed open troughs. In the process, a relief plate prevents the material from exerting too much pressure on the discharge screw and thus enables fill heights of up to five metres. Bottlenecks are avoided in the enclosed trough channel thanks to the spacious discharge connections. A smooth material transport is supported by the progressive screw, which loosens the wood chips even more. Even the installation is easy thanks to the modular design. The screw modules with sizes of 12.5 to 200 cm are produced and aligned in automated machines. The specially shaped trough channels only have to be screwed together.
Even more flexible thanks to flue gas recirculation.

ETA wood chip systems offer the advantage that the operator can use wood chips of different qualities. Not just in terms of size. Flue gas recirculation, which is a tried and tested element from large plants, is used for very dry fuels such as dried wood chips (
The boiler that thinks with you...

Many sophisticated systems are at work in the ETA HACK: replaceable knives simply cut pieces of wood which are too long. This allows the boiler to also process coarse industrial wood chips. A lambda probe "detects" the condition of the combustion material, so that the fuel feed and the air supply can be automatically adapted to the wood quality. And the single chamber rotary valve, developed and patented by ETA, reliably prevents the fire from reaching the fuel store.

... and is economical in the way it uses energy

The spur gears used by ETA feed the wood chips with less effort than regular screw drives. So the power consumption is reduced by around a third. And because a clean boiler works more efficiently, the whole boiler is automatically de-ashed - from grate to heat exchanger.

The right temperature in the combustion chamber
thanks to permanently regulated flue gas recirculation:

to achieve optimum results in terms of emissions and efficiency during combustion, you need a steady, ideal temperature in the combustion chamber and therefore permanent control of the flue gas recirculation. As in the draught fan, a highly efficient fan is used here too to keep the combustion temperature in the de-gassing zones above 800 °C, but under 1,000 °C at all times. In this temperature window, all components of the fuel are completely split for one. And on the other hand the thermal load on the components is kept as low as possible, which enormously increases the lifetime of the boiler. Combustion temperatures that are too high can also lead to undesirable slag formation.

Whether for the burning of wood chips or pellets:
the interior of this moving grate boiler has all that is needed for safe, clean and flexible heating. Flue gas recirculation is permanently monitored. It reinforces the flow of gas. The grate is cooled better and the temperatures in the boiler remain stable in one area, which on the one hand ensures complete combustion of the corresponding fuel and on the other counteracts slag formation. Underpressure monitoring ensures safety, while the lambda control ensures the highest efficiency with the lowest emissions. Maximum convenience is ensured with an absolutely reliable system for the fuel feed and the multi-cyclone dust separator.
          • ETA EEP

          • External electrostatic precipitator ETA EEP for ETA HACK and PE-K

What type of wood is processed into wood chips? How high is the water content? How much bark was included in processing? – Depending on the quality of the wood chips, the flue gas contains varying concentrations of dust particles. Complying with mandated emission values is not always easy.

Up to 85% less dust in flue gases
The precipitator from ETA guarantees worry-free operation in this regard. It filters 80 to 85% of dust particles out of flue gases. It fits perfectly into the ETA system, runs via the ETA Touch control system and is nearly maintenance-free. The precipitator area features automatic cleaning in regular intervals: The dust particles separated from flue gases are transported fully automatically via a screw into ash bins located outside.

Clever use of a natural phenomenon
Why does dust keep building up on the computer screen? It is because the dust particles are electrostatically charged and are attracted by the screen. – ETA makes use of this effect in its precipitator. With the aid of an electrode in the flue gas duct the particles which are swirling in the flue gas are energised and ionised. So they are deposited on the internal wall of the separator and can no longer escape from the chimney with the flue gases.

            • Who can benefit from abuffer storage tank?

Basically everybody, as a buffer storage tank raises the value of any heating system, increases the efficiency and reduces the operating costs.

Buffer in the event of irregular requirements: fire produces a certain minimum amount of energy. The combustion process cannot be throttled back endlessly. If very small amounts of energy are needed, this need can only be handled with buffer storage tank. If, for example, the heating requirement is less than the energy that a boiler produces, the buffer stores the excess heat and then slowly releases it back. The boiler starts less frequently, it doesn't waste any energy. If, on the contrary very, suddenly large amounts of energy are required, for example if a lot of hot water is needed at once, the boiler cannot react that quickly. But the buffer storage tank can.

The hydraulic module: the right system for all eventualities
No two heating systems are the same. Previously, the different requirements such as the integration of solar heating systems, the connection of multiple buffers or the separation of heating circuits had to be laboriously planned. There were no ready-made solutions including the control system. Commissioning, and in particular the cabling, was often very time-consuming. That's why ETA has developed modules for different requirements, which can be freely combined with one another and always work as a perfect system.
