  • Offer Profile
  • CP Pumpen AG is an independent Swiss precision manufacturer with a high innovative capacity. Since 1948 we have been developing and producing centrifugal pumps for the highest quality and safety standards in Switzerland – and selling them all over the world.

As an innovator in the field of highly complex centrifugal pumps, CP Pumpen AG has been pursuing one objective for decades: to make industrial processes, which pump hazardous or valuable fluids, even more efficient, sustainable and safe – for the installations themselves, for the employees and for the whole environment.

Product Portfolio
  • Centrifugal Pump

  • We make efficient, rugged and safe centrifugal pumps: both magnetic drive pumps and double mechanical seal pumps. Discover our product range of high-quality pumps for the chemical, pharmaceutical and many other industries.

CP Pumpen AG is a specialist for seal-less magnetic drive pumps and pumps with double mechanical seals, which convey particularly delicate and hazardous substances in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. Our pumps are also designed for sterile biotech processes in the pharmaceutical and food industry.

Worth knowing: All of our metallic magnetic drive pumps feature a central, single-part bearing system with a non-rotating shaft. The bearing system is optimally flushed and cooled by the pumped fluid. Therefore, even fluids laden with solids and those with a low boiling point can be pumped. Thanks to their special design, our metallic magnetic drive centrifugal pumps do not need a plain bearing carrier. This means they are particularly space-saving, ideally heatable and low maintenance.

Today we are a market leader for magnetic drive pumps – in Switzerland and many other places too.

      • Discover the benefits of the MKP Bio produced by CP here – the CIP pump for sterile processes in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry.

Because the MKP-Bio has no shaft seal, micro-organisms are prevented from penetrating the pump. The torque is transmitted via a magnetic coupling, which is designed according to the inverted drive principle. Thanks to its special design, the MKP-Bio does not need a plain bearing carrier. The one-part, centrally arranged impeller bearing system is optimally flushed and cooled by the pumped fluid. The pump thereby achieves outstanding running properties. The impeller rotates steadily around a stationary axle according to the gyroscope principle and is hydraulically optimally balanced. Only slight bearing forces act on it, which increases its operating safety.

      • Our pump applications

      • CP Pumpen offers you a wide range of centrifugal pumps for a great variety of applications. Select your application and discover more about processes such as chlorine alkali electrolysis or liquids like sulphuric acid. Please find below our top applications.
          • Chlorine alkali electrolysis

          • The showcase procedure for CP pumps - all types of shaft seal-less pumps and those with a mechanical seal produced by CP Pumpen are successfully used here. Whether for brine, sodium hydroxide, hypochlorite, chlorine and sometimes even for supplying water. Efficient, rugged and safe!

Whilst titanium or nickel pumps used to be predominantly used, these days the plastic-lined MKPL or EB pump models developed by CP Pumpen are used. Where there is still a solids content or where crystallisation may potentially occur, EB pumps with a Futuratef(R) double mechanical seal are used. In the field of electrolyte circulation, it is the economically viable MKPLs, metallic and rugged with corrosion-resistant PFA lining, which are used. These can also be used with an NaOH concentration up to 200°C.
          • Cooling and heating circuits

          • Multi-purpose installations in the production of fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals or polymers? Which of these installations can do without cooling or heating circuits? The reliable CP pumps without a shaft seal for high temperatures prevent high-risk leaks and thus reduce the risk of fire - safety for people, the environment and your investment

Very often, MKP in the high temperature version are used at temperatures over 250° to 350°C - and safely so! The high temperature version is designed so that excessive heating of the magnets and the motor side can be prevented. Selected materials in the bearing system have been specifically designed for this heavy-duty application. The seal-less construction is leak-free and hence very safe with regard to posing a danger to people, the environment and installations. No leaking oil - no contamination and less risk of fire.

But MKPs are also used for cold temperature applications down to -100°C. This opens up possibilities in the field of low temperature reactions or pumping pharmaceutical materials in a gentle, contamination-free manner.
          • Solvents

          • It is impossible to imagine the chemical industry without solvents. The importance of the large number of different solvents is enormous. Solvents have to be transported in installations - safely and efficiently!

Whether it is only water, alcohol or complex solvents. High or low-boiling, every solvent has specification properties which need taking into consideration when pumping these media. When selecting the pumps, alongside density, viscosity, vapour pressure and many other parameters, CP Pumpen also considers the energy efficiency of the pump and the thermal load on the system. For certain models, therefore, eddy-current-free shrouds are also available. Vapour pressure, NPSH and the effects of deficient lubrication need to be considered right from the design phase so that the installed CP pump ultimately performs its task safely and for a long time.

Seldom critical is the choice of material, which is usually stainless steel 1.4581, yet particular attention must be paid to the choice of seals. The MKP, metallic magnetic drive CP pump contains no seals in the part in contact with the product and is therefore much less critical than pumps with seals, for example with a mechanical seal. If solvents are used in the pharmaceutical sector for the transportation or reaction of active ingredients, pumping them free of contamination is essential. CP magnetic drive pumps stand out perfectly here!
          • Alkalis

          • Lyes or alkaline solutions are corrosive! Just the right thing for shaft seal-less pumps produced by CP Pumpen. Pumps from the MKP or MKPL series with a metal and also plastic lining are used.

From simple to complex. This is how pumping alkalis could be described.

Because depending on the concentration and temperature, the choice of material is a challenge. CP Pumpen are extending the choice beyond the classic range of nickel materials for metal pumps to the seal-less pumps lined with PFA for temperatures up to 200°C. And for high flow rates too. Different bearing materials also safeguard the operation when the liquid tends to crystallise. Whether it is MKP or MKPL - CP Pumpen will find a solution for pumping your alkalis!

          • Acids are corrosive! Just the right thing for shaft seal-less pumps produced by CP Pumpen. Pumps from the MKP or MKPL series with a metal and plastic lining are used.

Whether small quantities or huge flows, whether a high or low concentration, high densities and viscosities or water-like, with impurities or ultrapure. The CP pumps are up to the job.

As a rule the PFA-lined shaft seal-less magnetic drive pumps from the MKPL series are used with acids. The range also extends to the EB shaft seal pumps for clear acids or to the ceramic-lined ET for media containing solids. On both models, the double mechanical seals, Futuratef® or Futuramik®developed by CP are successfully used.
          • Liquid sulphur

          • Sulphur is used both in the chemical and the pharmaceutical industry, among other things for the production of sulphuric acid, dyes, pesticides and artificial fertilizers. What is special about sulphur in liquid form is its changing structure and sublimation. What looks nice poses a challenge for the pump application.

Rugged pumps are called for when pumping liquid sulphur. The challenge is to move the product that easily solidifies safely and efficiently. Whether that is done using horizontal, dry-installed pumps from the MKP series - CP’s metallic, seal-less magnetic drive pumps or with the same pump model but in the submersible MKTP version for installation in immersion containers.

Besides its ruggedness, options like the heatable casing are an effective solution for quickly heating up the pump around all the corners and curves. That is only possible due to the ingeniously simple design of CP’s magnetic drive pumps. The central bearing system without a bearing bracket enables free access to the parts of the casing in contact with the product. In the case of the MKTP version in the form of a sump pump, the patented bearing lubrication is a highlight for the maintenance department. No dismantling, no production downtime, simply ingenious.
