World Leader in Shock Mitigating Boat Seats
- Several studies have shown that many “suspension
seats” on the market have the capability to increase the impacts acting on
the human body. The reason seems to be that the slamming motions on
high-speed craft are very irregular. One severe impact can follow split
seconds after another. Regular suspension mechanisms often do not have the
capacity to handle such actions.
It has also been shown that a standing person repeatedly receives amplified
impacts on the back, compared to the impacts measured from the deck.
Standing up is not a safe method of reducing impacts on the body.
The human reflex-controlled muscular suspension system is active every time
we run or jump. It is optimized to take up even larger accidental shocks. Shock Mitigation

All Ullman Jockey Seats provide the optimal conditions for the body to
react adequately by
- Stabilizing the entire body
- Using the legs in controlling the shocks
- Supporting the optimal shape of the human spine to withstand impact
- Keeping the head in an optimal balanced position

Biscaya
- The No. 1 in Marine Jockey Seats
The Ullman Jockey Seat Biscaya is designed to protect the crew and
passengers of high speed craft from injury. The seat design optimizes body
posture while the Ullman Semi Active Progressive Shock Mitigation System
takes care of the high forces during impact.
The Ullman Jockey Seat Biscaya has a high backrest for maximum comfort and
support plus long saddle sides for optimal lateral support in a straddling
position. To further improve seating geometry the Ullman Biscaya includes
two handles manufactured of stainless steel (316) that give wider support
for passengers behind the seat. A zipped neoprene pouch for gear is located
on the rear of the backrest.
The Ullman Semi Active Progressive Shock Mitigation Systems, provides
unsurpassed shock mitigation, allowing the human muscular reflex system to
synergize with the mechanical suspension, resulting in mitigation of 70% of
the force.
Compact
- Suspension seat designed to fit in limited spaces.
The Ullman Jockey Seat Compact is designed to protect the crew and
passengers of high speed craft from injury. The seat design optimises body
posture while the spring and damping system of the Ullman semi active
progressive shock mitigation system takes care of the high forces during
impact.
The Ullman Jockey Seat Compact has a lower backrest and shorter saddle sides
for lateral support in a straddling position, compared to its siblings
Biscaya and Patrol. The lower, narrower seat design allows for installation
in limited space and gives excellent comfort and support. To further improve
seating geometry the Compact seat includes a top handle manufactured of
stainless steel (316) that gives support for passengers standing or sitting
behind the seat. A zipped neoprene pouch for gear is located on the rear of
the backrest.
Patrol

The Ullman Patrol seat is optimized for full comfort and safety during
tactical operations in rough conditions over long periods of time.
The Ullman Patrol seat features a large seating area with thick padding that
allows sitting in various anatomically correct seating positions with fully
maintained shock mitigation functionality.

Daytona
- The Daytona seat is the lightest seat in its category
available on the market. It is designed to be used in limited spaces and to
give shock mitigation for extreme high speed boats. The Daytona Seat is a
monocoque carbon fibre shell with neoprene or leather upholstery. The shell
is ergonomically designed to follow the shape of the body and put the user
in the best position possible.
The seating geometry is designed to give passengers the optimal body posture
for handling both static and dynamic loads. The Ullman semi active
progressive shock mitigation system with twin shock absorbers provides high
levels of comfort in extreme sea conditions. The Ullman Daytona suspension
mechanism features the revolutionising new DDSuspension System (DDSS) which
provides 15cm of travel and optimal lateral suspension.
Atlantic
- The Ullman Atlantic seat is designed to protect the crew
and passengers of high performance craft from injury. The seating geometry
is designed to give passengers the optimal body posture for handling both
static and dynamic loads.
The Ullman Semi Active Progressive Shock Mitigation System with twin shock
absorbers provides high levels of comfort in extreme sea conditions. The
Leaflex suspension mechanism allows 200mm travel and can be optimised to any
specific vessel.
The Ullman Atlantic Seat is designed primarily for cabin boats and to allow
straddle position when needed and reclining when possible. The suspension
seat has adjustable damper rebound and compression setting plus built-in
lateral support. The upholstery uses leather for the external surfaces over
multi-layer fire resistant foam for optimal comfort and safety. A UV and
water protecting seat cover is supplied. Standard seat colour is black with
multiple colour upholstery sets available to order.
North Atlantic
- The Ullman North Atlantic Seat is a smaller version of
the Ullman Atlantic Seat.
Its design makes it possible to fit in limited spaces without compromising
function.
Apart from that difference it has the same specifications as the Atlantic
Seat.
Steering System
- The Ullman steering system for high-preformace vessels is
an interface concept adapted primarily for high speeds and extreme
conditions.
The Ullman Cockpit is available for single and twin outboards, single and
twin stern drives.
The Ullman Rolls-Royce Cockpit System is a full fly by wire system for
single and twin waterjets.
Accessories
- To adjust the seating height, we have developed a large
foldable footrest.It is large enough to accommodate the whole front half of
the foot. It can be retro-fitted to any seat or base.
By not supporting the heel you allow the calf muscles to participate in the
shock absorption, just like on horse back riding and Motocross riding.
The foot rest is made of machined aluminium 7075-T6 (Aeroplane aluminium),
anodized black.It is made with an anti-slip surface for ultimate grip and 3
side ridges preventing slip-off.
Console Aero
- The Ullman Aerodynamic Console is designed and shaped to
reduce air resistance while protecting the crew from wind and spray. It is
designed for optimal ergonomics in the most challenging operational
conditions. It can be used for port or starboard helm position and provides
optimal positioning for steering wheel and throttle.
The console is constructed of FRP / GRP sandwich and is strategically
reinforced to withstand high impacts. It is fitted with a 10 mm (3/8”)
heavy-duty windscreen.The Ullman Console can be used with a traditional
steering wheel or with the Ullman Steering Bar System.
