Fleece was its name, but everyone knew it as "Mickey Bear" because of its soft appearance which at first glance seemed light, warm and protective. It was a thermal, waterproof jacket thought up in 1980 by a group of sailing friends who wanted a jacket that would protect them during races. Now 20 years have passed since "Mickey Bear" first appeared on the market. That group of sailing friends has become SLAM, a solid, efficient company that holds diverse production lines, a continuous growth in the market and an organized presence throughout the world.
