      • Automatic stacking cranes (ASC) are rail-mounted cranesused for yard-stacking and in-stack transportation of containers. ASCs deposit and pick up containers from dedicated interchange areas located at both ends of the stack. The Kalmar Automated Stacking Crane is controlled and monitored by Kalmar TLS (Terminal Logistic System) software functions.

            Automated stacking cranes enable the highest possible capacity and stacking density. The ASC terminal optimises throughput and stack footprint. When using Kalmar AutoShuttle™ as a feeder, apron size can also be minimised, making your terminal as space-efficient as possible. For greenfield terminals, the reduction in footprint size can result in significant capital cost savings, in terms of both land acquisition and terminal realisation. Alternatively, and for brownfield terminals, the space freed up could be used for an expansion of the stacking area that would enable you to increase operational income.

            External truck loading uses a truck lane laser measurement system that pinpoints the exact locations of the truck trailers’ twistlocks, chassis or container. The measured target is automatically fed to the crane. Lifting as well as grounding of the containers is fully automated. Automated truck handling works with trailers with twistlocks, internal chassises and cassettes up to 4 TEU long.

                RT240 Rough Terrain Reachstacker

                The Kalmar RT240 is a rough-terrain reachstacker designed specifically for remote logistics operations in military and commercial applications. It has a capacity of up to 65,000 pounds, can traverse virtually any type of terrain, and is able to operate in extreme climates such as desert and arctic conditions. The RT240 has a fording capability of 60 inches. It features two-wheel, four-wheel and crab steering modes for excellent manoeuvrability on any terrain. Unladen, the RT240 can drive up to 24 miles per hour on a paved surface. It is also highly transportable – folding the machine into transport mode takes less than 20 minutes and requires no special tools. It can then be driven onto a rail car, super hauler or C-17 transport aircraft.

                RT022 Rough Terrain Telehandler

                The Kalmar RT022 is a rough-terrain forklift with a lifting capacity of up to 5,000 pounds. Compact enough to drive right inside a container, it also features two-wheel, four-wheel and crab steering modes for excellent manoeuvrability on even the most challenging surfaces. With side-shifting forks for container loading and unloading, and a tight turning radius of just 30 feet, the RT022 is ideal for lifting operations in tight spaces.
