  • Offer Profile
  • Pleora is one of the few companies worldwide that specializes in interfaces and software for transmitting video and related data over Ethernet networks. And we are the only company that offers a complete end-to-end solution that includes interface hardware and IP packages for video sources, monitors, and processing equipment; as well as a comprehensive SDK and video server API.

We helped revolutionize the machine vision industry by pioneering this technology and co-founding the GigE Vision® standard. The GigE Vision standard is now a globally in-demand protocol for virtually all sectors where high-performance, uncompressed video transmission is required — from applications in C-arms for image-guided surgery and LSA systems for military vehicles, to automated tolling systems on highways and quality inspection of pixels for flat-panel television screens.

Learn more about how Pleora can help you optimize the design and performance of vision systems by exploring our product lines below.
  • iPORT™ Video Transmitters

  • Pleora’s iPORT™ IP engines are Internet Protocol (IP) video and control interfaces that transmit video in real-time over Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) with consistent low latency and low jitter.
As a key element in Pleora’s end-to-end networked video solution, iPORT IP engines can deliver video to one or more destinations for processing, display or storage. Included with Pleora’s IP engines is the eBUS™ SDK, our field-proven PC software.

    Solve design challenges
By streaming video over standard GigE networks, this product family solves a number of nagging system design challenges associated with other common video interfaces:
    • Limited cabling lengths;
    • High bandwidth video transmission;
    • Routing issues related to cabling flexibility, bend radius, and thickness; and
    • Lack of video distribution capability.
    Reduce system costs
In addition to its design advantages, a GigE network architecture reduces a system’s overall cost and complexity since it not only demands fewer components, but most components are standard, off-the-shelf supply.
    Ensure interoperability
Our iPORT IP engines meet the standards of GigE Vision® and GenICam™, providing system designers with interoperability between devices.

    Leverage engineering expertise
Beyond the benefits of Ethernet, designers enjoy the specific advantages that come with the Pleora relationship:
    • Access and apply our extensive engineering experience in networked video to your application.
    • Benefit from our expert understanding of the GigE Vision standard, which Pleora co-founded.
    • Receive support for a variety of in-camera and in-system video interfaces.
    • Leverage powerful configuration software specifically designed for fast GenICam integration.
    • Save time with our software development kit, which includes a high-performance driver that minimizes the resources required of the host PC.

  • eBUS SDK

  • High-performance application development toolset, interoperable with GigE Vision and GenICam compliant devices.

    Product Attributes
Designed for use in high-performance digital imaging systems, this comprehensive software development kit (SDK) is interoperable with both Pleora and third-party devices supporting GigE Vision® and GenICam™ standards.

    Video Acquisition
Pleora’s eBUS™ SDK is a feature-rich toolkit that allows Windows and Linux developers to produce advanced applications in a short timeframe. Included with this SDK is Pleora’s eBUS Universal Pro driver, which serves to increase throughput and performance while decreasing latency and jitter.

    Video Transmission

Pleora’s Video Server API, a feature of the SDK, can be used to create applications which manipulate video streams, prior to retransmitting them to their final destination. Advanced vision system applications can blend or stitch together images from multiple cameras, highlight areas of interest in images, and perform other transformations.

    Product Features
    • Receive and transmit image streams with a single SDK

    • Real-time video transfer with low, consistent latency

    • Comprehensive set of sample code and documentation

    • User interface controls for high-performance display

    • GigE Vision- and GenICam-compliant

    • Extensive rebranding and repackaging capabilities

    • Works seamlessly with Pleora’s iPORT™ and vDisplay™ IP engines, as well as GigE Vision- and GenICam-compliant products from other vendors

    Networked Video
Compatible with Pleora’s iPORT™ video transmitters and vDisplay™ video receivers, the eBUS SDK is an element in a complete networked video connectivity solution over Gigabit Ethernet.
    • Pleora's eBUS™ SDK can be used to create applications that fuse video from IR cameras into a single image, and then distribute the enhanced image to multiple viewers simultaneously with low, consistent latency.
    • Complete set of user interface controls, including device finder and selection control.
  • EtherCast™ IP Gateways

  • Pleora's compact EtherCast™ IP gateways give existing broadcast equipment the capability to stream Asynchronous Serial Interface (ASI) and Transport Stream (TS) video over Internet Protocol (IP). In doing so, these transceivers make remote video connectivity over wired or wireless IP links fast, easy, and affordable.
    IP-enable your broadcast equipment
For broadcast equipment manufacturers, our bidirectional EtherCast IP gateways simplify and reduce system operation costs by allowing video to stream reliably over economical IP networks.

With Pleora’s transceivers, you can add IP connectivity to a wide range of broadcast video equipment, including:
    • Logging Systems
    • Multiplexers
    • Encoders
    • Receivers/Transmitters
    • Modulators
    Preserve your technical resources
For broadcasters, EtherCast IP gateways are so easy to use that technical resources are not required. Video can be streamed from remote sites — such as small TV studios, security hot spots, traffic observation points, or weather stations — to central locations with a few clicks on a web-based interface.

    Count on performance
Pleora’s highly specialized expertise results in exceptional jitter control, low latency, lossless data transfer, and advanced error correction standards to ensure pristine image quality.

Use our experience to your advantage
Pleora has extensive integration experience and will support you throughout the project from initial project specifications to testing and validation. By taking advantage of our experience and specialized expertise, your company’s technical resources are free to continue focusing on core business.
      • EtherCast™ ASI-Pro IP Gateways

      • Compact, user-friendly ASI-to-IP video transceivers for low-cost video transport from remote sites over Gigabit Ethernet

        ASI-Pro IP Gateway Product Attributes
Pleora’s EtherCast™ ASI-Pro IP gateway is a compact, low power video transceiver that makes it fast, easy, and affordable to transport DVB-ASI video from remote sites — such as broadcast remotes, special venues, security hot spots, traffic observation points, or weather stations — to central locations.
Allowing video to stream reliably over economical wired or wireless IP networks, the ASI-Pro IP gateway simplifies and reduces the cost of links to remote sites. One side of the palm-sized video transceiver plugs into a coaxial cable from an MPEG-to-ASI encoder, the other to a Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) cable. After a few clicks on a simple web-based interface, the unit is ready to go.
At the central location — such as a production facility, command and control center, or play-out center — the video can be converted back to ASI by a second ASI-Pro IP gateway, or left as is for processing by IP-based equipment. Multicast transmission is fully supported, enabling the same video stream to be distributed simultaneously to multiple destinations.

EtherCast ASI-Pro IP gateways provide a plug-and-play solution for remote site connectivity over standards-compliant protocols, such as IP, UDP, and RTP. Based on field-proven IP engine technology offered in Pleora’s world-leading line of iPORT™ products, broadcasters can transport DVB-ASI video from remote sites easily and affordably.
